Introductory Post

Hello, fellow Steemians! My name is Matthew Bishop and this is my introduction post to the community. Now, I have made a couple of posts before, but I wanted to share with you a little about myself and what content you can expect from me in the future.

I live in the Appalachian mountains in extreme southwest Virginia. I love outdoor photography, video games, cryptocurrencies, and a little crypto gambling from time to time. I am also an avid aquarist with multiple planted aquariums.

Recently I moved back to southwest Virginia after living in Richmond, Virginia for the past 7 years. I lost my job of 12 years after experiencing some health issues and looking for alternate ways to make some income online and I hope Steemit will assist with the bills.

Welcome to Steem, Matthew! Do you have freshwater or saltwater aquariums? Sorry to hear of your health issues and I hope that you're able to have success with your journey on our chain to help pay those bills. Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

We encourage everyone to explore the various posts and to leave personal comments on those that you wish (for example - thoughts regarding the content or a sharing of a similar experience you've had). This platform thrives through interaction as it's the best way to build relationships with other Steemians while finding communities and initiatives that peak your interests.

We like to advise bloggers to cite if images, videos, etc. used in their posts are of their own creation. This practice gives the creators an opportunity to have it clearly labeled that the works portrayed are the rightful property of the party posting it.

Another tip that we share with everyone is to be careful of copyright infringement when using material that is not of their original creation. Content (for example - images from a website) that grants permission for reuse is acceptable for content creators to utilize within their posts provided there is appropriate attribution to the source. Thanks for the information. My aquariums are all freshwater. I love growing live plants, truly a "orb of nature" when you do it correctly, they can look like works of art.

Sorry about getting back with you sooner, I was in the VA Hospital over the entire Memorial weekend... just got home today and am doing o.k. To answer your question: Think about topics of YOUR OWN interest. I like tiny houses, so I typically blog about that subject. Try Dlike.io. It's a great place for beginners who are struggling to get a blog of their own; because, you can share YouTube videos that are of subjects of interest to you that you think others on Steemit will enjoy (this is what I share... is others' YouTube videos that may be of interest and or educational to others about tiny houses and like subjects. Just MAKE SURE you GIVE CREDIT for who produced the video, etc. See my posts from Dlike.io on my Steemit page for examples if you like.) Well, I hope this helps some. Just be YOU; and let your imagination go freely!🙂

About 3 1/2 hours southwest of Bradley. If you can remember, traveling here takes a bit longer due to the mountains. Check out the movie when you can, it's based upon a novel and is a light romantic comedy. The movie is entitled "Big Stone Gap".

Six suggestions:
1. guard your passwords carefully, and only post with the posting key,
2. only use your active key for wallet transactions,
3. Master password is only for resetting new passwords,
4. do NOT lose your passwords; copy and store off line,
5. Don't post other people's work, whether photos or written without credit, and
6. when you open up your steemit.com, up in the upper right corner of the page is 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a whole lot of reading material that will help you.
I found you because @xcountytravelers and @brittandjosie of @heyhaveyamet featured and promoted your post to get more exposure and help you grow quicker.

I was welcomed with good advice too when I started so here i am. I know that steemit may seem very overwhelming right now but don't worry. After a few blog you will be the best blogger and contributor.

I may know the answer. But very important I recommend you to never give up any off your passwords they are yours ! Please for safety tips read and visit the white paper.
