It’s the weekend, I have struggled to get myself feeling a bit stiff lacking in energy. To help my lack of motivation I got myself to the kitchen and made myself a homemade kale smoothie.
Ingredients:
A handful of kale
1 apple
I teaspoon of tahini
300ml of milk
1 teaspoon of Manuka honey
2 tablespoons of Natural yogurt
Kale is superfood that gives you 200% of your RDA of vitamin A and over 100% of vitamin C. It is also full of fibre and nutrients, low in calories and has 0% fat. Manuka honey is a natural sweetener and full of antioxidants .Tahini is a great source of iron and magnesium which boosts energy and relaxes the muscles.
Method:
Chop the apple into small pieces. Strip away the stems of the kale and also chop into fine leaves.
Pour the milk into a bowl, add the tahini, honey and yogurt and mix together.
Add the chopped apple and kale and blend the entire mixture until there is the mixture is smooth and is topped with a green froth.
This smoothie has fuelled my tired mood and muscles and spurring me forward for the rest of the day!
