Hello Steemians! My name is Michael also known as MikeTravels on Steemit. I'm new to this platform and looking forward to contributing more. I am an avid reader, investor, and a world traveler. I work as a flight attendant for a major airline, so I usually blog about the places I have been. I'm also an artist, so I occasionally create art and sell them on Etsy. I have been blogging on and off for the past few years, but my blog hasn't taken off probably because of lack of exposure.
I am pretty active on Facebook, Yelp, Trip Advisor and Instagram and have quite a big following. However, they are nothing like Steemit. I feel steemit is a great way to expose my creativity, my love of travel and get rewarded too!
Steemit caught my eye after reading about it in The Stansberry Digest because of my interest in Bitcoin. I have been captivated by the development of this cryptocurrency phenomena for the past few years but never acted on investing in it until now.
The concept of blogging meets blockchain meets social media intrigued me. Getting rewarded for writing reviews and experiences about the places that I have been to sounds exciting.
The community also feels so fresh and fun. There is some optimistic vibe about it which is something lacking in other platforms.
I think I have a lot of good content to share and looking forward to contributing meaningful content in the future.

Welcome @miketravels. I'm also a newbie here but loving the community so far. There is so much to learn but it's exciting which makes it easier to wan t to learn.
I only just figured out what voting & steem power are. I had no idea that my upvotes got depleted and needed time to recharge.
