Hi @nikandra. Thanks for your post. I can understand where you are coming from. I have two kids at home who keep my occupied. This is a great place to post a picture a day. Add a paragraph or two of writing and it will be even better. It might take some time to catch on but after a while you will get the hang of things here for sure.
Find some posts you like and make some sincere comments. That's the best way to get around at first.
I started a series called Groovy School and you can be rewarded by participation. Actually everyone gets paid to go to school. Each Sunday I send back part of the rewards to everyone who participated during the week.
Check out yesterday's post:

Hi, friend!) Thank you for your advice! How old are your children?
Do i understand it right that you think I should write more about my life and where I'm from?

The phrase: "where you are coming from" is an English expression that means "I understand your statement."
You can write about anything. You don't even have to write in English.
If you like pictures post a picture and write something about the picture. If your baby is having a good then write about that. Write about anything that is easy for you to write. Then do it everyday for a while.
In the meantime find the "explore" option on the right hand side and look for areas you might be interested in. Comment on a post you like.
Finally after some time try to join some community here that suits you.
My kids are elementary and middle school.
