Hi Steemit Community! Mariel Ranara, Philippines!

Hi! I’m Mariel Madera Ranara, 20 yrs old, currently living in the fertile soils of Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, Philippines! I’m studying at Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology taking up the course BS Computer Engineering. I practically have no idea what “steemit” was about until a dear friend of mine suggested it ‘cause according to her, “I like to read and express myself”. And due to my insatiable curiosity, I figured why not? I mean, maybe this could be my ticket to becoming a better communicator.

Curiosity really killed the cat, which in this case, is me.

Life is but an endless cycle. I keep living my life, searching for myself far and wide for things that would better define me. Some say I’m funny, while others consider me cold-hearted,but whatever the case maybe, as much as there’s a lot of things you don’t know about me, there’s a lot of things I’ve also yet to discover about myself.

MISS SOFTWARE & HARDWARE
Being drawn to software and hardware is the reason why I choose to take computer engineering. Some say I’m an electronic destroyer, a cray electrician wanna be, a robot or even a mindless hacker but I’m just an explorer. I like exploring internals of electronic device. It’s satisfying to see sparks all over the circuit during our laboratory. I find programming interesting too that someday somehow, I could make my own software and computer virus.

THE ENIGMATOLOGIST
I like playing crosswords or anything concerning logical stuffs.It’s really fun whenever I try to solve riddles, mysteries, crime scenarios and the like.Acting like a detective to every interesting situations is my forte and I love the role so much that I even dress myself up as Sherlock Holmes sometimes (shout out to sherlock fans out there)!

THE OCEAN IS A FRIEND OF MINE
Some of you may think that I always lock myself in my own room, but nah. I also find time to just chill, and enjoy the view of the sea while breathing in that nostalgic salty scent of the ocean breeze. Though I’m not a swimmer,I still find comfort and tranquility being so close to the water. It’s fun collecting shells and playing on the sand. The shape of the water never fails to dance along the tide flowing in my soul. I just really love the ocean especially when friends are around.

HEARTBEAT FOR MUSIC

Need a frustrated singer? Well, here I am. I sing my heart out down to the very last few seconds of the songs I fall in love with. I listen to All Time Low, Paramore, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Jason Chen and Aj Rafael. Well,I mostly listen to songs that better fit my mood, which includes rock, acoustic or mellow.

HUGOT(?)
I also like expressing my thoughts through writing. I write stupid love poems and the like,whenever I feel heart broken or inspired by true life events. Observing and listening to others feelings also inspires me to compose good poems.

THIRST FOR ART
Looking at another person’s art is just so irresistible to me that it makes me want to draw and sketch more and more. When I’m bored in class, I’d borrow my seatmate’s notebook and draw something on it. I feel like I could express my feelings through drawing.

OTAKU MODE
Minna-san, Ogenkidesuka? Im fine, thank you. Yes readers, I’m an otaku. I like watching anime and reading mangas and magazines. Whenever there’s a cosplay expo, I definitely go. And I always get so jealous over the owners displaying their action figures and other anime merchandises.I even sometimes make my own comic strip based on mangas for fun!
