Crypto - A political scientists dilemma.

Steemit is something I came across only yesterday after a long hard day at my university. As a Political Science student cryptocurrency is an idea that could befuddle me or one of my peers at any given moment in our lives. We can talk about the world and politics all day but if you want to shut a smart ass political scientist right up, start talking about crypto. This is truly a very new territory.

Digital currency as an idea has always been very enticing. Just thinking about it makes you feel like you have butterflies in your stomach. For someone like me who has no prior knowledge of the subject reading all those bitcoin articles made me feel both excited and sad. Excited because it was perhaps one of the most exciting (good) things to happen to our world apart from Elon Musk and his space odysseys in the last year and well sad because I wasn’t in on the fun. Feeling left out, I had to somehow get in on the fun and well here I am. Still trying, by the way, no idea where to go from here. The recent drop in the bitcoin value is scary to an average person like me, uncertain about its implications, for now, I stay in the dark. But like all Steemians I strive for a better tomorrow, with the love and support of the community I hope to understand the depths of Steemit and really understand what the hype you guys are making is all about!

Although my initial thoughts about Steemit were “a very quick way to earn money”, upon further exploration I discovered that this goes way beyond just crypto or money, this my friends is a revolution and I feel as part of the lucky few who stumbled upon this platform as an early user. My thoughts on the platform are still evolving as I try to grasp the complexities and technicalities of the platform but I hope to promote it to the best of my abilities and also provide the community with my two cents on what I think about life at large, from a political science/journalistic perspective. I hope to both post about life at large, promoting Steemit as well as sharing my own knowledge with the community in the forms of both fiction and reality. Oh and I also love cats so you’d be hearing a lot about them all throughout my posts, hope you don’t mind! I’ve been a writer since many years now but it's​ only now that I feel like I could finally get rewarded for doing something I love. So thank you Steemit!
