Well hello everyone! Let me introduce my self!
Firstly before i start, I must say what an innovative platform available for us . Cant wait to help grow the STEEM community.
My name is Jen, and i live in the beautiful Pearl of the Indian Ocean - Sri Lanka.
Having been here my whole life, I have come to love and enjoy the many beautiful simplicities this Country has to offer. What better way to get to know me, than by taking you through one of my Personal favorite Trips i took about few months ago with my best friend to Kandy, Sri Lanka. Travelling by train , A 3 and a half hour distance from where i live, i couldn't help but be fascinated by all the interesting commuters i met along the way.
You have your usual Spicy savory food sellers, a srilankan foodie classic - Isso wade ( Fried savory dough topped with crunchy prawns) which I would reach out for most definitely considering my cravings for all things spicy. And my beautiful lankan travellers, either lost in conversation with their fellow loved ones or basking in a deep sleep from the long ride back home.
Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It is surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. Once we arrived, we dropped our bags at our hotel and took a Tuk tuk ( An automobile with 3 wheels) to one of the best attractions of Kandy - Royal Botanical Gardens Peradeniya , home to a gorgeous collection of Orchids and vast array of Botanical Goodness.
Later, we spent the later part of our time walking around in the streets enjoying a cool Popsicle, leisurely exploring every Vintage street corner . But what attracted me the most was how exquisite the streets of Kandy looked. Nothing screams 70s Britain than the streets of Kandy.
We were greeted with delightful smiles as we made our way to every shopping center we could find. You name it, we had Food, clothes, Shoes and souvenirs pilled up into every bag our hands could possibly carry. Phew.. it was fun!!
It was an extremely joyful experience, although we spent just one day there. And i cant wait to go back there again and share more of the amazing travel stories.
