Introduction

in introduceyourself •  6 years ago  (edited)

Hi everybody, my name is Nick Dawes and I am a Studio Owner/Mixing , Mastering and Recording Engineer. I previously worked full time as a Musician and this helps me with my production work now I am studio based. The Studio (named "La Source Studio") is situated in Grasse which is in the South Of France, I'm originally from the UK but wonderful food, glorious weather and artistic locals enticed me to stay after visiting over 14 years ago.

I work on styles of music and I run an online service for mixing and mastering (http://www.mixing-mastering-online.com), I also record projects here in the studio and equipment comparisons. I've blogged before on other platforms lending me experience by highlighting my techniques and processes to achieve a professional sound from your home recordings, I now plan to do the same here.

Here are a few recent pictures of the studio,

I'm looking forward to sharing music, tutorials, blogs and photos from the studio. I'm also looking forward to connecting with like minded people out there that share the same interests.

Sweet setup, Nick! Welcome to the blockchain! There are a TON of musicians here. (I'm one of them.) If you check out the #openmic community that's a great place to find music peeps. I know very little about mixing and mastering, but I'm always looking to learn more. If you do make your way over to my blog, please don't judge my iPhone videos of me singing. lol! I've got a Scarlett interface and a mic on their way, so hopefully my production quality will take a big step up soon. ;)

Steemit is an amazing place to blog and network. It does take persistence, like anything, and joining communities is key. @welcomewagon does a great job of helping newbies find their feet and find friends as well, so you might check them out.

Thank you @xcountytravelers for bringing this post to my attention! Hope to see more posts from you, Nick. Steem on!

Thanks Katrina, I'm looking forward to listening to your music and checking out the #openmic community. I shall post some of my music on there too. The scarlet is a great interface, I'm actually going to be recommending it in my next post.

Right on! Looking forward to hearing your music. :)

Hey welcome to Steemit! My son's finishing his degree in sound and audio at moment and LOVES it. He would love your set up there.

France sounds lovely... I used to live in UK but I think these days anywhere else is preferable!!!

Thank you, I did take quite a few years to build up the equipment as you can imagine, I'm sure he'll be the same after a few years, you can't help collecting new toys!

Welcome, Welcome To Steemit!!! Loving the equipment and wishing I was in France at least for a visit. Do you do podcast and video tutorials? I am in need of that I have a new camcorder and canon rebel camera want to use on steemit dtube and on youtube. Or do you do music recording only.

I do record videos myself, mostly studio equipment comparisons like this

Wanted to welcome you to Steemit & be one of your first upvotes. For me, the 2 best things about being a Steemian are sharing and automation. The sharing part is when you upvote someone else's post, you get a piece of the curation (money/crypto) from that post (and vice versa). The automation comes from using steemauto.com to auto upvote so you can literally make crypto (Steem) in your sleep.

For example, we can share the curation on my post from today called "Swimming with a Chinese Softshell Turtle" by upvoting it (The Sharing). The amount of money is shown in the post.

After signing in to steemauto.com using Steemconnect (a part of the Steem blockchain), come back and click here: "Stewsak Fanbase" and follow to upvote and receive a piece of the curation to all of my posts (the automation). Sharing is beautiful and I would love to share the piece of the money/crypto with you on all of my post. I look forward to reading your post in the near future and if you have any questions, ask away :) Have an outstanding week!

"Wishing you the best..."
