Hello, I am Onision. I've worked on YouTube, building a career for myself for about 10 years... actually, 11 years now. At around March I and many other YouTubers were hit hard. Suddenly our opinions were no longer welcome on the site and we were being punished for not being compatible with toddler-level audiences, but not just that, not being 100% suck ups to other YouTubers.
Some people on YouTube are still thriving, despite being considered non-friendly for all audiences, these individuals have a history of having popular opinions, in other words, the only YouTubers they ever call out, are the YouTubers already hated by the general masses. Meanwhile, there are people who don't pander, who say what they feel about who they feel, people who have perspectives many do not accept. For instance, not a lot of people want to hear your political opinion on YouTube, or your religious views. As a consequence of not having the favor of the mass majority, YouTube will punish you not because you are just saying something non-PC, but rather because you are saying something non-PC that people don't find agreeable/rewarding to them/their own narrative in some way.
In other words, the day where the underdog is put down, has come. Far as I know, unpopular voices are not to be silenced, some of our greatest advancements as a society were inspired by unpopular voices... and with recent developments, less small YouTubers are being monetized than ever before.
Long story short, a site that celebrates us all, like YouTube 2007, would be preferable. One that does not punish you despite you abiding by all policies on the web site. If we really want diversity and don't desire an echo-chamber inspiring social stagnation, we have some serious work to do.
Aside from all these points, I am a variety content creator, however I have been hit on all fronts, according to this document, it wasn't random: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sqbsph
