Greetings from France !

Note : The following picture is irrelevant to the topic and only reflects the current thinking state of my stomach.

I have always been a dreamer. Not in the sense that I wanted to become an astronaut, a Hollywood movie star or, obviously, a Google engineer.
Rather than that, I always had high expectations in mankind's progress. I kept imagining an ideal world where everything would be fairer and where people's work would actually be valued properly. 

Secretly, I have always been yearning for UBI and for being able to spend all my time on what I am best at doing. I believe the society would be better off if all of us could contribute willingly in the best of our capabilities. I have been studying engineering only because everyone kept telling me it was the path to go. "Wait, you wanna be a language teacher ? Forget it my friend, the salary's not worth it in France. Just study engineering. Especially computer science".

Guess what ? I listened to the above advice and embraced the dark side of The Force at 18.

When I first heard about the potential of the blockchain technology, it obviously blew my mind: freeing ourselves from the governments and the big banks? Individually playing a role in an ecosystem ? No friggin' way they'd let that happen, lulz.

But hey, I still wanted to be part of it. However, it looked like most promising crypto (Bitcoin, Ether ...) were reserved for tech-savvy guys. My dad, typical 50+ y.o man, struggles to differentiate single-clicks and double-clicks (btw, I love you dad). Not everyone had the chance to grow up in the same era as I did.

I just heard about Steemit yesterday. I just registered & started trying wandering around to see how it works. Well, I can only say the concept is AWESOME. I hope a nice community similar to Reddit (which has been extremely useful to me during all these years whenever I'd seek feedbacks or advice) will be built here. Being able to actually reward someone for his/her contents makes me feel like I can actually contribute to something real. Thanks Blockchain. Thanks Steemit. The future is bright and I believe this is only the pre-first step.
