My name is Emily, I am 25 years old, and I just moved to Los Angeles from Salento Beach a few years ago after graduating from college. I majored in photography and graphic design at CalArts in Valencia, and I now have my associate's degree for both. I chose to live in LA because I've always felt like a big-city girl, and now I can say that I am! I like it here, there's so much to do and see! Studio tours, the Walk of Fame, Beverly Hills, and so much more! I think I'll have a great opportunity here as a photographer.
The only downside is I didn't expect the apartments here to cost so much! Luckily, the job market here in the City of Angels has been bountiful. I started my first photo-shoot gig a while back for some up-and-coming actress. She really liked my style and asked to see my portfolio, which I gladly showed her. She told me she'd pass it around to other companies for me, but I haven't heard back yet… Anyway, I've been busy trying to keep my workflow steady enough to stay in my apartment. It's been rough, but I think my landlord has a crush on me since he doesn't seem to mind late payments from me as much as he does with his other tenants. The view from my apartment is so beautiful;
I have a full view of downtown from my balcony and even a small glimpse of the big Beverly Hills mansions! I hope that I can afford a house in that neighborhood one day. While I'm in between photo-shoots, I've been exploring my options with graphic design, which to my surprise has a much larger market than photography here! There are always want ads up for things like new movie logos, t-shirt designs, and even restaurant menus! It doesn't pay anywhere near as well as photography, but hey, money is money, and you need it to survive in the big city! I saved up enough to purchase a domain website to set up a portfolio of my clients' finished products to send along with my growing resume as I try to apply to bigger and better jobs.
I've made a few friends along the way as well. I'm not super popular by any means, but I do get around to hanging out with them when I can. However, most of the time I'm meeting with a client for a talk over lunch -which I almost always have to pay for! I met my newest friend about a week ago. Her name is Cassie, and she's a photographer like me. We get along great as we both share a similar story. She's not from LA and she was having trouble finding work when she first arrived. Somewhere as she built her resume here, she was introduced to STEEM, some new form of digital currency that's been sweeping the nation.
She told me all about how it was worth investing my time into it, and how it was actually worth more than physical money! I have to say, the idea really caught my attention, so I looked into it some more when I got home. It turns out, for every one "coin", as they're referred to, is worth about $2.27 at the current exchange rate. I told Cassie that I am super-excited to enter the world of cryptocurrency, but I wasn't sure how.
She told me not to worry about it and that she'll help me get into the STEEM exchange. We arranged to meet at a local internet café, where she pulled up the exchange website and showed me the ropes. The market was very similar to the New York Stock Exchange. She taught me how to invest STEEM coins into a company, how to tell if a company is worth investing into, and how to sell my coins as well as when to sell them. Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to using STEEM coins!
i mainly use a nikon ds 80 for my personal photography.that is my facebook profile!Feel free to add me as a friend!https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100012935289106
