A brief introduction about myself

Who I am

Hi everyone, my name is Peter Kyusung Kim (김규성) and I’m a Korean living in Australia. I moved at the age of 4 so I still have those vague memories of my time in Korea, and from my parents I have retained most of my Korean heritage. However, having grown up in Australia, I definitely can say that I have the Western aspects as part of my personality. I found that it has helped me to see both sides of the story and it has helped me see pathways in my life that I would not have been able to see otherwise.

What I am studying

I study a double degree in Law and International Studies at the University of New South Wales. I found that being able to understand the society in which I live, in both a domestic (through my law degree) and international sphere (through my international studies degree), helps me to have a more holistic understanding of what is going around me.

What I hope to achieve here

Through my writing, I want to share my past, present, and future experiences and thoughts. Hopefully, it will be entertaining or even enlightening in some manner. I've never really been one to talk to a large audience, being more comfortable talking one-on-one as I find it more intimate and easier to convey what I really feel. However, I feel as though in this community, it almost emulates the same feeling and I really wish it does. I want to write in such a manner that everyone who reads my writing feels as though I am reaching out to them individually, rather than to the masses.

What I am doing at the moment

Currently, I’m on exchange in Europe with my exchange university being Ludwig Maximillians University (LMU) in Munich, Germany. I’ll be here for an year long exchange that started in September and will be travelling all around Europe. I want to share my experiences and allow readers to follow me on my journeys and share my thoughts.

I hope I will be someone who’s next post you can look forward to.
