Sam Seder's The Majority Report is Now on Steemit!

@samseder is not mainstream news. I think he is a contributor to MSNBC, but he is not at all like like what you typically see on MSN, Fox, CNN in any way. Ditto for @davidpakman. I hope the likes of MSN, Fox, CNN stay away from here. Come to think of it... is there any way to prevent that?!?!?

There is no way to prevent anyone from joining steemit. That's the point of decentralized social media.

There has to be a way to prevent chatbots and mercenary trolls. An example of the problem is described in this article - "As FCC Prepares Net-Neutrality Vote, Study Finds Millions of Fake Comments" at https://www.npr.org/2017/12/14/570262688/as-fcc-prepares-net-neutrality-vote-study-finds-millions-of-fake-comments

Large scale manipulation of votes on steemit requires either owning a sizable percent of STEEM power or creating a large amount of new accounts, which also costs STEEM. This makes manipulation very expensive compared to other social media sites where account creation is free and 1 account = 1 upvote.

The Steem whitepaper discusses this issue in more detail: https://steem.io/SteemWhitePaper.pdf

Lol! Cool. I'll check those guys out. Thanks!
