My Name is Naomi! I am a Body Piercer and Visual Artist out of Seattle. I work full time doing body piercing and also host a monthly ritual body piercing and suspention event in Seattle WA.  Nice to meet you Steemit!

Here is a little more about what I do and why, also my other contact info!

People modifying the body throughout history with no reason or explanation of why; other than it creates magic in our lives. This is my magic, and it has made a large positive impact on my life. I have had the pleasure of experiencing over a 100 piercings on my body, and from every one I have learned not only about the physical modification but the mental and spiritual changes I experienced. Being a piercer I get the opportunity to create a moment, where you go deep within oneself, a moment and memory to last. Sharing experiences with others and creating new ones. Needless to say, needles are needed, feeling feelings I in no other way can feel. -Naomi

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what photo you are referring to? The one with the cuts on my chest and purple gentian lines? That is a scarification piece, the act of using scars to create marks, and memories on the body instead of applying ink.

yep this one i ment :) thanks for your fast reply. ok wow i didn`t know this technique before. Looks like a painful procedure. But also i can understand why this kinda pain can be positive in some way. Don't to say it better .. I'm also having some piercings and each of them was in special situation of my life and i was connecting these events with piecings. Anyway :) WOW :)

I felt it that's for sure! Friends also have said the pain has been not as bad or much worse then a tattoo for some pieces, so all cirumstancial. :) It's great you had your piercings and that physical moment to help sanction those special times in your life! They are precious and special moments! :)

guess i have to write my #introduceyourself post as soon as possible and adding some images :P

Of course!

Have you been to a native Sun Dance?

Hello! I have not had the opprotunity to yet, but I have done ritualistic hook pulls and such! :)

Yes, your scars reminded me of those on Sun Dancers. I had the opportunity to participate (as security, not as a dancer) at a Sun Dance in the 90's. A very enlightening experience.

Beautiful! Awesome contribution of you! Glad you where enlightened!
Thank you they are one of my favorite pieces!

creative and interesting

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words!

Scarification is so hard core. You go girl!

Thanks!

from every one I have learned not only about the physical modification but the mental and spiritual changes I experienced

I'd be very interested to hear more about these epiphanies. In buddhism, suffering, its causes and its avoidance are the central tenet of the so called 4 noble truths. There is great effort in attempting to decorelate pain (as the most pressing and intense cause to suffering) from suffering itself and self-inflicted pain is often part of the regimen of those who seek spiritual enlightenment.

Yes! I'm working now, but I will try to make more posts detailed about certain events and such, but I'll try to summerize something now. Pain, and suffering are both great tools for leaning about oneself but they are completely different concepts. You can have suffering with out pain, just as you can have pain without suffering. There are many aesthetics from all over the world that maniuplate the way they do things to see a new veiw or light on the current situation. The last image was of a cheek spear, I made the jewlery myself, put alot of thought and concideration into the decition I made, pierced it myself, and did a vow of silence, and it definitely changed me.

Also here is a link to my blog of what I wrote after my vow of silence.
