Introducing prisonfreepress!

Hey there dear Steemit community, my name is Tom.
I am located in so-called 'Canada' and very pleased to finally be with you all!

This blog functions as a permanent database or library for documenting injustices within the Canadian prison system.
All posts from public media sources are cited with full credits for: Author, Publication, and Date.
This is not a place for my personal critique or opinion.
It is a place of Historical Record.

On Permanence:
The internet contains, by it's very nature, an ephemeral, temporal record. (imaginary? lol)
As such, it is at great risk of historical information loss and malicious revision.
Linking to an original article source inevitably fails as website architectures are constantly changing.
Death to Dead Links, Long Live Steemit Living Posts!

This is the real beauty Steemit & the blockchain architecture!
(But the negative risk of course, is all the permanent vanity garbage clogging it all up like fatbergs and space junk!)

On Plagiarism:
Fair Dealing & the Canadian Copyright Act
Sections 29, 29.1, 29.2:
"Fair dealing for the purpose of research, private study, education, parody, satire, criticism, review, and news reporting does not infringe copyright."

About:
Prison Free Press (PFP) is a Not-for-Profit Organization that publishes two free quarterly magazines by and for prisoners, ex-prisoners, their loved ones, and support organizations in Canada.

Aim:
These magazines (Class Action News & Women's Prison Network) promote sharing of experiences through creative expressions of art, poetry & stories, as well as current news, support resources and health/ harm reduction information.

Values:
Prison Free Press is dedicated to social justice, human rights and dignity for all.

Disclaimer:
Prison Free Press is not seeking financial gain from this project.
This project's intention is only to be a Public Library Resource.
Should there be any, all proceeds go directly into future publications.

Looking forward to see what type of information you report, and store on steemit. If it is going to be pasted type post then definitely keep your:

Fair Dealing & the Canadian Copyright Act
Sections 29, 29.1, 29.2:
"Fair dealing for the purpose of research, private study, education, parody, satire, criticism, review, and news reporting does not infringe copyright."

blurb handy and ready to post, I would add a line such as "Posted in accordance with" at the top of your blurb, to save cheetah bot and steamcleaners doing harm to your account.

Thank you so much for that tip.
I will def give it a try tomorrow.
But damn, Cheetah Bot is my biggest fan!
Cheetah_Bot.jpg

You may need more than the blurb for what you want to do, and how you are using steemit, @anyx is the human behind cheetah bot, and the link below is the FAQ for cheetah bot.
https://steemit.com/steemit/@cheetah/faq-about-cheetah
It is 9 months old, but I do not think that it has been updated, if it has someone will have mentioned it in the comments. You may actually need to condense and carry your intro on all the prison post.

Thanks for the link, valid point taken!
You are quite correct about protocol, but I prefer not to make comment.
If I comment, I feel that I would be appropriating the real value from the true author.
I won't do that.

A disclaimer prefix or suffix probably won't work as I'm quoting verbatim.
Interesting conundrum - hope I can work through it!

This blog functions as a permanent database or library for documenting injustices within the Canadian prison system.

The following information is posted in accordance with the: Fair Dealing & the Canadian Copyright Act Sections 29, 29.1, 29.2

All posts from public media sources are cited with full credits for: Author, Publication, and Date.

That may keep cheetah bot and the steamcleaners off your case. Just 3 sentences, you are not commenting on the material. "The purpose of the blog. The law you fall under, and the source/credit. I don't know may help, may not.
