Web Developer & Entrepreneur Introducing Myself

in introduceyourself •  8 years ago

Hi Everyone! My name is Mark and I'm from London, United Kingdom. I was introduced to this site after stumbling across a youtube video by Craig Grant about Genesis Mining and buying into steam.
I still have a lot to learn about the steemit website and what it does, so any help and guidance would be much appreciated.
I little about myself:
I love to Travel and pictured below is me in Dubai a great place to visit for those who have not yet been.

I am a Web Developer/Designer, so if anyone is looking to get themselves set up with an online business or blog, please do get in touch for a friendly discussion, you can see my work and contact details by visiting http://prosparky.com.
When I can get away from my laptop, I am a keen musician and play the guitar, bass guitar & drums amongst other instruments.
My dream is to earn enough money and buy a beach house somewhere nice & hot as England is abit too cold and dull (weather wise) for me.

Welcome prosparky,
with cryptos you heading absolutely the right way towards your beach house;)
I mine with genesis myself, how ever there are some great alternatives.
I have been facing problems with difficulty, take genesis for example
lets say u mine Dash there like i do (genesis sells Power for time), which is cool at a low difficulty. Dash, Monero, Ether is now what a lot of ppl. try to mine, so the difficulty will go up. For me that means my payouts with genesis shrink! The profit for a 2 yr. contract will be good, definitely better than a bank therefore why not own the GPU's and have someone maintain them for you !? The last around 15yrs. why would I rent them for 2 years if I can own them for the same money and have them maintained for a small fee, also you can mine anything on them with one click you can switch what u mine with it! If you want some alternative that gets you break even in the same time but let's you keep your GPU until it breaks send me a message, I am not posting a ref link here cos really noone will click it anyway... were talking money here not a 20$ protein shake;)

Hey
I just rented some hardware from Genesis a few days ago and doubt there is no going back on my order. I really appreciate the suggestion and after the contract has finished I might consider getting some hardware, or even when i get my capital back. Yeah I'm currently also mining dash, which I read is apparently going to be the next big thing even overtaking bitcoin. I have followed you and you seem like a cool guy with alot of traveling experience, I was thinking of taking some time out to travel Thailand maybe this year.

Thanks, yes I basically travel all the time, where ever I like it I stay a bit longer.
Thailand is great, I'm gonna be there all May on Koh Phangan my favorite Island.
At this Time it's low season so there are not many tourists (that's how I prefer living) and also the prices are basically half for great accommodation!!! I'm absolutely on your side, Altcoin mining in general is more profitable! How ever the only reason I mine them is I can mine more profitable and exchange to BTC. Bitcoin will always be "the Gold" crypto , we don't pay with gold at a store but it's still the most valuable "hardcurrency"
Dash and many other altcoins are great and promise a lot but can they manage to move 18billion capital with the same speed they do now with 500 million , I doubt it. I compare it with the car and some fancy train . The car came out long before and we build its infrastructure roads etc. it took a long time to get here. now dash and many others promise some super speed train and that's nice but reality is where u gonna drive it?? it needs infrastructure;) and that takes time... the infrastructure for bitcoin is here and the venture capital of 1.4 billion$ and the list of the names behind that money (invested in bitcoin and blockchain startups) tell me that this is how it's going down . Bitcoin will be worth 10s of 1000$ in the next 10-15 years. people will always hold assets in it, some other coin(dash ether pivx) might be the form of payment in the future but bitcoin is the fort knox;-)
and I don't see a Dash or Monero to take that place.
I don't see Dash ever in the 1000ds, just an other form of "silver"
