Anyway , My name is Jealousy
....lets see , how I (Jealousy) work .
Once upon a time a man prayed to god for days , in the end. God was really happy with his devotion and dedication, and God appeared in front of him.
The god granted him a wish,that he will get , whatever he wishes BUT there was a catch.
What ever he will ask for, his neighbor is going to get the double of it.
The man thought that it does not matter what his neighbor gets, at least he can get whatever he always desired for.
But in few days the blessing became a nightmare for him.
He asked for a palace for himself to live in, his neighbor got two.
He asked for a billion dollars, his neighbor got two.
He asked for a beautiful woman for himself, his neighbor got two.
Now you can understand his dilemma. He lost his sleep even. He was more bothered about what his neighbor was getting. Obviously he was jealous of what his neighbor was getting.
Gradually he stopped even asking for himself too.
What is the fun of asking for the things that his neighbor is going to get the double of it?
Than one day he met his friend who was a lawyer by profession. Seeing his friend in distress the lawyer gave him piece of advice .
This guy was really happy now.
He again went back to the god and said I want to loose one eye of mine.
The neighbor became blind.
Now seeing this he asked god to dig two wells in his courtyard.
The neighbor got four wells in his courtyard.
Now it was only a matter of time that the neighbor would fell into the well and die, and it so happened.
The neighbor fell in one of the wells and died.
This story applies to all of us.
Jealousy is a negative emotion, and we all in one way or the other suffer from it.
It acts as termite on our emotional level and eats away all the positive emotions in us.
This trait is visible , even in children . We call it sibling rivalry among brothers and sisters . It can be seen among students in school or college , when your friend scores good grades , wins some medals , has a beautiful girl friend , has more money then you .
In the nutshell , you end up comparing yourself with people around you and if somebody seems better than you , something inside you kicks and make your life miserable .
When we grow up further and start working or get married . This trait also grow up and create more problems . Jealousy can ruin a relationship or marriage faster than any other problem in life.
No one thinks clearly when jealous.
In fact the mind stops functioning at all .
Having a relationship with a person , whose trait is jealousy , its a nightmare .
Living with that person is really very tough. The jealous person acts weird or unworthy.
Jealousy makes the person angry ,irrational, unreasonable, unattractive, even repulsive.
Jealousy is negative emotion , the same emotion when turns towards positive side , it becomes contentment .
You are contented , when .......
You don't compare yourself with any body
You give 100 % effort , while doing something but detach yourself from the outcome
You genuinely feel happy , when some one around you achieve something extra ordinary
You are thankful and calm , even when circumstances are not conducive .
In other words , its just opposite of jealousy at feeling level .
