Hola Steemians!!!

Hoy finalmente vengo a presentarme en esta plataforma. Mi nombre es Bartolomé Hernández, soy oriundo de Venezuela. Tengo 48 años, nací en una ciudad llamada Barquisimeto, que es la capital del estado Lara, y desde ahora, espero empezar a escribir frecuentemente aquí de Steemit, que es una plataforma que me llama mucho la atención por muchas razones diferentes.

Un nuevo Steemian ha llegado

Aunque me registré en Steemit desde hace alrededor de 6 meses, diversas cosas habían impedido que me lanzara a escribir mi post inicial para empezar a participar en esta plataforma. Trabajo, ocupaciones, distracciones, falta de ánimo, los problemas de mi país y problemas personales, pongámosle el nombre que queramos, pero el caso es que hasta este momento no me había animado a escribir este post inicial. Así que estoy muy emocionado al escribir este post en el día de hoy y creo que nadie puede culparme por ello.

Para quienes sientan curiosidad respecto a mi nombre de usuario (que como ven es @ptolomeo), la verdad es que lo elegí porque soy un apasionado de la historia y la cultura. Para quienes no lo saben, Ptolomeo fue nada menos que un gran sabio de la antigüedad, nacido en Grecia quien fue una eminencia en muchas áreas del conocimiento. Sus aportes al conocimiento de la humanidad fueron innegables y por ello hoy he querido honrarle a través de mi nombre de usuario. Ya en otra ocasión les seguiré hablaré más de dicho personaje.

¿Qué les puedo contar acerca de mí?

Soy un educador apasionado de su carrera. Doy clase a nivel medio, me desempeño en un liceo de mi ciudad natal. La situación salarial de los docentes en mi país deja mucho que desear, pero yo sigo allí, en la lucha por preparar en la aulas de clase a las nuevas generaciones.

En todo caso, no estoy aquí para hablar acerca de política (si bien en mi país es algo lamentable), ni de la situación salarial que tenemos, así que mejor les comento un poco sobre otras pasiones y aficiones que tengo. Practico tenis, juego ajedrez (soy jugador amateur), me encanta la fotografía. Amos una buena comida, una buena bebida, me fascina conocer nuevos sitios y compartir un rato con amigos. Otra cosa que aún no les he comentado es que soy padre de familia, tengo esposa y 3 hijos. De mi familia ya les hablaré más profundamente en alguna otra ocasión, pero deben saber que soy una persona sumamente familiar.

Amo leer porque soy un gran fanático de la cultura y del arte, razón por la cual creo que podré hablar sobre muchos temas diferentes aquí en Steemit. No sé si mi manera de escribir les gustará, pero ciertamente pienso que a mí me encantará estar aquí escribiendo para ustedes.

Y lo que es más, se que me encantará leer todo lo que ustedes, queridos lectores, publican en esta plataforma. Espero que podamos congeniar e interactuar mucho de ahora en adelante y que hagamos cada vez más grande y mejor esta gran plataforma que es Steemit. Así que les mando mi más cordial saludo a todos los que están leyendo ahora.

Hello Steemians!!!

Today I finally come to present myself on this platform. My name is Bartolomé Hernández, I am originally from Venezuela. I am 48 years old, I was born in a city called Barquisimeto. Which is the capital of the Lara state. And from now on, I hope to start writing frequently here on Steemit. Which is a platform that attracts my attention for many different reasons.

A new Steemian has come

Although I registered on Steemit about 6 months ago, but various things had prevented me from writing my initial post to start participating in this platform. Work, occupations, distractions, lack of spirit, the problems of my country and personal problems. Let's call them whatever we want, but the fact is that until this moment I had not dared to write this initial post. So I'm very excited writing this post today and I don't think anyone can blame me for that.

For those who are curious about my username (which as you see is @ptolomeo), the truth is that I chose it because I am passionate about history and culture. For those who don't know, Ptolomeo was nothing less than a great sage of antiquity, born in Greece who was an eminence in many areas of knowledge. His contributions to the knowledge of humanity were undeniable and that is why today I wanted to honor him through my username. On another occasion I will talk you more about said character.

What can I tell you about myself?

I am an educator passionate about his career. I teach at the middle level, I work at a high school in my hometown. The salary situation of teachers in my country leaves much to be desired. But I am still there, in the fight to prepare the new generations in the classroom.

In any case, I am not here to talk about politics (although in my country it is something regrettable), or about the salary situation we have, so I better tell you a little about other passions and hobbies that I have. I practice tennis, I play chess (I'm an amateur player), I love photography. I love good food, a good drink, I love discovering new places and spending time with friends. Another thing that I have not yet told you is that I am a father, I have a wife and 3 children. I will talk to you more deeply about my family on another occasion, but you should know that I am an extremely family-oriented person.

I love reading because I am a big fan of culture and art, which is why I think I will be able to talk about many different topics here on Steemit. I don't know if you will like my way of writing, but I certainly think I will love to be here writing for you.

And what's more, I know that I will love reading everything that you, dear readers, publish on this platform. I hope that we can get along and interact a lot from now on and that we make this great platform that is Steemit even bigger and better.
