A new Beginning #introduceyourself

Hello dear Steemit Community,

first and foremost I would like to thank the anonymous ‘Steemians‘ who have granted me the Steem Power to even make this Post.

My Name is Kerry Ann, I am 29 years old and married. (I have a 4 year old son) We moved from germany to the philippines about a month ago. I was born in the US and lived in germany since I was 4 years old until I was 29.

After I was finished with school I did not start learning a profession, because I wanted to get out into the job market and see what profession would suit me first. So I have worked a few different jobs and had fun and not so nice experiences, but I got the chance to learn alot of different things and get to know alot of interesting people.( Call Center [insurance and embassy], Fast Food [different known Fast Food chains], Sales [a small store, that is also a chain in germany that has pretty much everything from decorations, suitcases, handbags, drawing supplies, joke items, and much more]

The last job I worked in germany was at a world wide known fast food chain and you might be laughing at me now, but from all the jobs I worked at, the job itself at that Fast Food chain was alot of fun for me. I had alot of diversity in what I was doing. Then I got depressions for the second time in my life. The total years that I suffered from depressions were about 15 years in total. Now you might be wondering why I am writing this in my introduction post, I will tell you why.

Because what I want to give to this community is the knowledge from my experiences with depressions that I have gathered throughout those years and also share some of my experiences that have led to those Depressions. I have had friends and family also dealing with depressions and also learned quite alot about how different the symptoms of depression can be for each individual. Also I have come to learn how many people are suffering from depression, some of them not even really being fully aware of what they have and why they are feeling the way they do.

I have chosen to take those 15 years of mild depression (at the beginning of my first depression) to major depression, also experiencing different types of depression and use it to help others. I know how hard it can be to deal with depressions.I also know of the hardships of finding your own way of helping yourself either completely on your own, or with a therapist.

I have never taken medication in all those years, because I saw what it had done to some of my friends and family and that is exactly why I want to help others. Some people either do not get the help they need or sometimes it is insufficient. I am not saying that the help you get from therapists or doctors doesn’t help, not at all. What I want to say is this: I have never heard of or seen someone getting better from depression without helping themselves or the help of friends and family, especially if they are dealing with additional problems. (for example selfhate, anxiety, trust issues etc.)

Also to give you a little insight on how I am:

I made this account in december last year and spent alot of time reading about Steemit and introduction posts. I also read about blockchains to understand it more. (One thing I read on Steemit about introduction posts was, to be yourself, so this is how I am and I am trying my best while being nervous, lol) Would you believe me if I said that I have been stressing about making my introduction post a good one since december last year? Well when I do something I want to do it right, because I really hope to reach alot of people who either are suffering from depression themselves or know people suffering from depression.

It is a hard and bumpy road. Some only have it for a short period of time, but I know there are more people like me, who have been fighting for years to find a way out of the pit that depressions often feel like.

I hope I can help alot of people and I hope I didn’t stress for months for nothing, hehe.
