Hi folks, my name's Ian Marshall and this is my Steemit account. My account name may betray my love of the Rick and Morty show but I'm also a long time Bitcoin and liberty activist, an editor for Taxation Is Extortion, and admin for the Free State Bitcoin Consortium Facebook group.
I moved to the Free State of New Hampshire in 2002 and became a Pre Stater when the Free State Project showed up. I was excited to introduce Bitcoin to anyone and everyone and was very happy to meet Free State participants at Porcfest where I'd heard they were starting to use Bitcoin. We inaugurated the now customary Bitcoin Meetups and traded bitcoins for beer while sharing mining tips and new ideas, like the first Bitcoin ATM. Since then virtual currencies have become a staple of the State through Mom and Pop outlets, online trading, and main street stores. Activists can now often be found in iconic downtown bars in Manchester, Dover, and Concord, meeting for beers, trades, and introducing Anarchist philosophy to guests and interested local parties.
Having spent years living by bitcoin mining and trading, even to heating my room with miners, it is refreshing to see platforms like Steemit start to fulfil the promise of blockchain technologies, the free, secure and open trade of goods and information, unfettered by dangerous authoritarianism. Content providers and curators can now profit from the efficiency and security of open source protocols and proffer their creativity directly to the public.
New Hampshire is a hot bed of liberty activism and it's a privilege to continue the cause of many who've worked for liberty in their lifetime in the Live Free or Die state, through direct contact and social media.
Thank you for taking the time to read my intro. Anarchy always! Taxation is theft!
You're a good friend, a clever bloke, and always on the cutting edge of crypto. Our paths will cross again someday soon!
