Hi Steemit community, I am new to Cryptos but looking forward to the journey

I am a 39 year old nerd at heart :)

I have been involved in software development my entire life. From as early as primary school I started tinkering with Turbo Pascal, solving maths equations to keep me busy.

Since school I dabbled a little in IT but found my true love of programming during the end of my schooling.

I have been working with Web Technologies since PHP 3 and Microsoft ASP and non existent JavaScript. How I still stayed in web programming after experience those I have no idea. But as most people I battled through and eventually found the world of.NET.

I worked with C# for a while building and designing some slightly more complex systems but in my spare time always dabbled in other technologies. Open source was a good thing and continued to grow my skills in PHP, Perl and JavaScript.

BackboneJS was the first real JavaScript framework I used. It really was a life changer after developing everything from scratch using query and Vanilla JavaScript. It appeared the bug had bitten and every day was finding a new JavaScript framework I could tinker with. CanJS was the next one on the list which I used to build my first true HTML 5 based web app.

It was not long after building a few desktop web apps that I ventured into the word of mobile application development. Been a web app developer my first natural framework to use was Cordova/ PhoneGap. I was impressed how easy it was for a web developer to get into mobile development but I quickly realized Cordova was not quite what I expected mobile development to be.

From Cordova I moved onto iOS native development and Android development but both of these appeared time consuming especially when you needed to deliver solutions for both platforms.

After building a mobile app SnappCab (which was launched around the same time as UBER in my country) it failed but lessons learnt were invaluable.

Enter the world of React Native. This truly is a game changer. The first app I built using React Native was IdeaJudge. The app is undergoing a version 2 upgrade and will be released soon but at the same time I am working on a new app for a rather important company. I can't say more than that until release day but I am looking forward to it.

I have a true passion for building scalable software solutions from mobile apps to server systems.

Other than my first passion of programming and app development I enjoy CrossFIT, Golf, Board Gaming, 3D printing and recently Crypto trading.
