Yo! I'm Ron Archer, I'm an artist. Born in Auckland and raised in Mangawahai, New Zealand, and now living in Melbourne, Australia. I became obsessed with art ever since I picked up my first crayon. I was a fanatic of cartoons and comics, and would always make comic strips of my favorite shows as well as create my own stories and characters. You will always catch me doodling my strange thoughts.
After graduating from Auckland’s Animation College with a diploma in Applied Animation, I moved to Melbourne to pursue my passion for art. Since moving here I have been working as a freelance illustrator and also doing casual labour work. The aim is to hustle hard and draw until I can become a full time artist; travelling, exhibiting and painting murals across the world.
My art is influenced by surrealism, ukiyo-e and the human condition. There is a connection between creativity and the deep recesses of the mind. With my sketches, I try to tap my unconscious mind to produce surreal and unexpected imagery, and use it as basis for my drawings and paintings.
