Hello my Name is rooste888 and I'd like to introduce myself!

Hello,

My name is rooster888 and this is my first post on steemit. I was introduced to steemit by my web developer/tutor who has also gotten me involved with cryptocurrencies. I am a redditor so this will be an easy transition!

I grew up in rural Missouri for the first 18 years of my life. I then attended Missouri State University and received a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology. From there I went to work at Washington University in St. Louis MO as a research technician. Due to unfair labor practices I soon left the university and picked up a temp job driving the Google Maps car. I didn’t work for Google directly but I worked for the temp agency they used. It was a really fun job because you're treated like a celebrity. :-) Due to the seasonal nature of the Google Maps job, I found another job in pharmaceuticals. I worked for a small Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) as a research scientist. It was a great learning experience and the people I worked with were awesome. I miss the group very much and doubt I'll ever work with such a great group of people.

While working as a research scientist I began pursuing my lifelong dream of being a business owner. A friend introduced me to the Amazon FBA program and it took off from there. I started my business with $500 dollars and 1.5yrs later I was able to quit my full time job and pursue my dream. I now work full time for myself in ecommerce. 98% of my sales are through Amazon and I would NOT recommend building a business that is this heavily reliant on Amazon. It's just a recipe for disaster and I will be writing more posts about this in the future.

I am currently building my own website to get away from Amazon and have hired some tutors to help. One of my tutors introduced me to steemit and I thought I'd give it a shot.

I live in St. Louis MO with my girlfriend, two cats and a 125lb German shepherd. :-)
