Hello. My name is rumaisah. I am 17 years old from Nigeria. People call me rumie even though I am not their roommate (bad joke I know).
This is my first post here on steemit and I am here to stay.

How I found out about steemit.
In my whole life, I never thought that there will be a social media that will pay me to post content. That's insane to me. But thanks to @blogtrovert, I found this wonderful app and I am soo glad I did because I am ready to fill your feeds with amazing contents.

What I do for a living?
I am a student. I blog and teach people how to set up their blogs and I tutor little children for fun.i am also a makeup artist(not professional yet). I just love makeup and i can talk about it for hours!

Why I decided to join steemit
There is I have always wanted to have. Financial freedom. I didn't like the fact that I was too dependent. I always have to ask my parents for money even if the thing I wanted to buy was as cheap as $10. It was frustrating And I always felt bad when I did it. After learning about steemit, I knew I can change this fact. If I really work hard. Because earning a few dollars in exchange for the knowledge you have about a certain topic is like a having a part time job. Talking about part time jobs, this takes us to reason number two. i have always wanted a part time job so that i would be able to finance my personal needs. But if you live in Nigeria (or any developing country),you will know that unemployment is a major issue. People with first class degrees and masters are unemployed and would do anything to get a job so that they could secure their lives. As a normal college student, you know that my chances are low.
My last reason for joining steemit is to be able to finance my blog. I have always wanted to start my blog(trust me, I have planned everything out and I have blogposts ready) but I couldn't pay for a domain and hosting. This will cost me a minimum of $50-$60. I started on a wp.com site and after months, I knew I needed to switch. My readers were really loyal and were always coming back for more. The little I could do to appreciate all their support is by moving to a wp.org and sending them freebies. With steemit, I believe I will be able to achieve this. The little you can do to show support is by upvoting this post and resteeming it. I would really appreciate it.

Hobbies?
Oh, I'm that kind of person that does almost everything. I Iove to:

• Read
• Swim
• Cycle
• Draw
• Paint
• Cook
• Bake
• Travel
• Shop
• And sleep(I don't know if that is a hobby to you,but to me,its my favourite!)

First impression about steemit?
So far, I really love it here. Everybody is posting amazing content and as someone who loves to read, I'm sure this will be like a free kindle to me. People here are very friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Thats a little intro from me to you. Here on steemit, I will post about soon many things because I am someone who has a little knowledge about everything.
