Citizen of the Earth

Hello Steemit, Ryan Oats here introducing myself. I'm a young man with a passion for the truth and a drive to make a difference on this home we call Earth.

I grew up in a small town in Ontario. Right across from the Buffalo border, the run-down city of Fort Erie is where I resided for most of tmy adolescent years. From the get-go I knew I wasn't like the others who lived there. Looking around... these people with no ambitions whatsoever; ones who would be happy to let their years pass them by as they consumed McDonalds day after day and lived in their boring bungalows in the suburbs. I began to wake up in the midst of high-school(like most who can realte to my experience. Shortly after intorducing myself to the realm of psychedelics I started to question my purpose on this Earth more intensely... philosophy became a high priority of mine.

In 2016, after graduating high-school, I made the plunge into the "real world" and escaped from the toilet bowl of a civilization that was "The Niagara Region". Don't get me wrong, the terrain was beautiful across the land in some of those areas, but it was the lack of opportunity to evolve further. I didn't want to fall into the trap of becoming a part of the post-secondary school system, giving endless hours of stress and money to something I wouldn't be confident about prospering in. I knew that there was something waiting behind the veil.

My new home became Montreal, Quebec. I couldn't have chosen a better city to introduce me to the multiculturalism in the world(while still being a resident in Canada). Instantly I could recognize the influence from all over the world... the architecture, the graffiti, the community... I eagerly declared it as mine and sought the city. While I felt like such an outsider in my own hometown back in Niagara Falls, I could sense there was something pushing me to express myself in a higher sense here. Combined with the awe of growing out of my adolescence and moving cities, this was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life.

Not extensively educated/trained in the ways of finance, (as cliche as it is) I fell into the trap of the pay-to-pay grind of the full-time slave job. I was lured into using most of my money on unnecessary excesses like smoking weed, experimenting with psychedelics(unneeded?) , buying junk food, etc. The first months were a fight for me, getting over a strenuous breakup with a long-term lover from home, learning the ways of how to keep your shit together more efficiently, the existential dilemna of my ego constantly lurking behind me... To tell the truth, I am still struggling with so much, but each step along the road is another step towards success... My objective is to win the game, or at least advance to the next level.

It came to a point where I realized there was nothing more to advance from here. For me, I would just fall into the same evil grapple and become victim to the fancy material of food and media-arts(I've been constantly obsessing with music production for my adolescence). At this point, I knew the reason why I was so eager to escape from my home-town. Moving to a bigger city was no better for me, it just pushed me into a more materialistic world with a bigger stress for income(that comes with being a big boy though ;) ) and different ways to pass the time. Everything felt so artificial living in the condensed living quarters of Montreal, when the second I walk out of my apartment I am greeted by the not-so-welcoming faces and auras of the people that inhabit the streets here(no, not just the homeless people). People don't want to look each other in the eyes, or share a moment... we're all on some ridiculous time set schedule to ensure everything works out perfectly for our lives. But how can anything be good when you are clouded by all of the negatives in this civilization. I've seen the horrors of a corrupt government taking our money and property, employing henchmen to go through with the dirty work... I've seen the obvious lies the media and corporate conglomerates have installed on humanity... and worst of all, I've seen the real people who are the vital sources of energy on this earth hover like zombies and sheep, racing for the next emotional porn they can obtain, the next hollywood movie or top-budget Fashion/Art they can pretentiously critique. Meanwhile, the most masterful creation is sitting right in front of our eyes. The nature that surrounds us, here for our own viewing pleasure and to witness the beautiful divine that guides us through all of our needs.

That being said, for after about a year and two months of living in the big city, I've made the decision to quit my full-time job, abandon the nothing that is here for me, and venture on my way down south and try to see what waits for me in a simpler life. I will be taking a plane to Mexico at the end of September to find a new life and see what this world has really granted me, rather than the false illusion of freedom in a translucent prison. I look forward to the moment where I realize I don't have to wake up for work the next day and Just enjoy the simplicity of viewing the nature in front of me... swimming with the aquatic life beneath us... finding more organic ways to sustain myself in this world.

I joined Steemit because I know I have a story to tell that some might be interested in. From what I've seen, this is an incredibly welcoming community and growing gradually.

If you want to keep up to date on my life and what I will produce, follow me and stay posted. So much more to come! DSC04603.JPG

So long, Montreal. You did me well for the while that I was here. I look onward to the next stage of my life... I'm coming equipped to battle.
