Lo que en otros lugares llaman tarta, pastel o bizcocho en Venezuela le llamamos torta. La cual es uno de los platos típico de Venezuela, este encantadora torta ideal para un cumpleaños, postre, merienda etc. La puedes comer acompañada con otros ingredientes tales como pasas u merengue italiano. Es una receta muy sencilla de hacer y con ingredientes que por lo general están al alcance de todos. Tiene una consistencia muy suave tipo pudin y es muy diferente y deliciosa.Este rico pastel es hecho a base de auyama entre otros ingredientes la cual son los siguientes:

Se pone a cocinar a fuego medio con concha y un poco de agua por 20 minutos y luego, la cortamos en pedazos medianos, se deja enfriar un poco y se saca de la concha, se le echa la mantequilla y el azúcar y se bate con una batidora hasta que este cremosa.

Luego engrasar con mantequilla y enharinamos nuestro molde preferiblemente pequeño y un poco alto.
