Hello Steemians! A budding Swift developer with slight meanderings on all things homebrew...

in introduceyourself •  7 years ago  (edited)

So I somehow fell down yet another YouTube rabbit hole today. You know, those ones where you sometimes don't know if you'll come back the same way without experiencing some minor psychological scarring - well, not today, this time it was different!

And somewhere between a Anarchapulco talk and some random free-market podcast, I learned about Steemit. And boy, was I in for a trip!

Red pill Matrix

I know I was subconsciously looking for a platform to spew what I love about open-source software, add code snippets that would actually see eyeballs and feel like I could share what I was learning the way I wanted to and, at the same time, know that I can help the next budding programmer. Plus there's something awe-inspiring and slightly crazy about this thing - a crypto-based community that focuses on content creators and curators, it's just nuts!

Plus, I want a place to occasionally talk about homebrewing -
Because what's as cool as cryptocurrency?
Beer - with no regulations or taxes!
Happy Beers

So here's my backstory

I made a series of videos on the newest, hottest programming language (to me) on the block that just became a whole lot cooler once it became open-source and available for Linux machines: Swift.

It's kinda like when Justin Timberlake left the Backstreet Boys to become a solo-artist and I'm like that crazy-ass groupie with a whole-room shrine dedicated to him and all I talk about is how awesome he is and... yeah, kinda like that... I hope you get the picture.

Now I know there's a lot of Swift videos and bucket loads of tutorials with creators doing the same thing, but what I do is share this crazy experience. It's good to get a different perspective sometimes. Just know that I share about what I know, share what I don't know, what I plan to learn, I share cool tips I come across, but most importantly,
Gif of Epic Faceplant I share my graceful faceplates.

Sometimes there will be some bumps on the road, but if you want to learn Swift with me, see what I'm currently working on, without being bored or doing another ToDo app tutorial - I will take you along for the ride.

I'm working on a new series now that deals with app development in Swift and that will challenge the shit out of me (oh, by the way, I do have a penchant for sprinkling in choice vulgar words if you haven't noticed). If you want to get to know the Swift programming language, feel free to peruse my youtube channel, Swift With Shani.
Those crazy arrays

You can get up to speed or just to see if you even like the way I present programming, plus most of the videos are updated for Swift 3.

And if you find the ride a bit funny, mildly entertaining or just a tad educational - that's really all I care about other then that I really look forward to interacting with this community and learning from you all as well. I'll occasionally post about my homebrewing adventures, because beer just makes everything awesome.

Love and a Good Homebrew,
@shanij
