A little about me

There’s not much to tell. I'm 44 yr. old wife & mother of 5 (Aged from 22 to 3 years, so I'm not exactly new to the playground and yes, I talk about my family a lot – if you don’t like it... no one's forcing you to read my posts – simple and this way no one gets insulted). I’m a military brat/wife married now for 23.5 years (Navy). Still trying to wrap my head around the idea of a sailor on an army base. The nearest body of water is the Rideau Canal/Ottawa River (this is before it turns itself into the St. Lawrence River).

I am me and if people don’t like it …oh well whaddya gonna do? I make no apologies of who I am (I have no current plans on changing anytime soon) and neither should you. Though, I'm pretty much a very fair and flexible person giving people benefit of the doubt even if they don't deserve it, but that doesn't mean I'm weak or subservient. But I do have my limitations here's a few examples of where I draw the line and it applies to all. I will not tolerate disrespectful comments about people with learning disorders or disabilities, religious bashing, religious intolerance (yes these are two different things), racism, bigotry, gay-bashing, sexism, misogyny - you wanna gaslight, might I suggest the Petro Canada down the road, gas is just a little over $1, enjoy. Growing up military, I've met a variety of people from different countries, backgrounds, sexual orientation, etc... I currently have family, friends and acquaintances who practice different religions/faiths and some that don't choose to worship to any prescribed faith base whatsoever. Also, in my merry lil band of peoples, there are those who choose to or not choose to identify with any specific gender and to be perfectly honest, I am truly happy for them, although I might make mistakes not understand, but I'm willing to learn to understand better. Now, before you start spouting off, I'll be condemned to Hell for that last statement, listen sweetheart. I'm already slated for a trip to Hell. I was condemned by a Catholic priest because I was baptised on a warship". The "warship in question is none other than, the HMCS Athabaskan, who after 45 years of service to her country was decommissioned (both my late father and spouse served on board her, so I guess that means I kinda have bragging rights ;) ). Anywhoo back to "Hell".... So, since I'm already headed that way because I don't have an issue with anyone who is identifies within the LGBTQ community and you do, I'll just save all you holier-than-thous a seat next to me and we can enjoy the eternal weeny roast ...oh yeah sweet-cheeks, don't forget to bring the marshmallows. Either way, If you are any of these just do an about face and head the other direction ‘cos life’s too damn short for that crap and I'm not wasting my breath or time trying to appease "you", just because "you" don't like one of the aforementioned group of peoples.
Now, onto the fun stuff.

I am a fun loving person who loves a good joke (and who doesn’t?) and have a wicked sense of humour. I also have a dark cynical side, which I pretty much try to keep it for myself unless someone's stepped over the line (besides, the Darkside has better cookies). I am a good listener; if you need someone to babble on to I’m here. I’m not overly fussy when it comes to writing/grammar (I’m not a grammar Nazi), and I won't bite anyone's head because of bad grammar since everyone every now and again we all make mistakes. One of my biggest mistakes when posting in (any of) my journals or on FB, is I have this nasty habit of talking while typing at the same time and I start missing words here and there.

I only ask one thing; if you’re going to reply to any of my posts please DoN’t TyPe LyKe ThIs it does hurts my eyes. Not that it matters much, and even though I do wear glasses and suffer from migraines and with the distorted typing it just makes reading a little unbearable.

I am a caffeine addict and chocoholic.

I will from time to time write in German. It's been about 24 years since I last spoke it fluently and trying to reteach myself, but ironically I can read and write in German text with only a few issues (goes back to that 24 yr gap). I speak French only when the Gov't wants me to be and luckily, no one has made that demand yet.

Have I left anything out? Hmm…? I don’t think so? Actually...yes there is. As I enjoy meeting new and interesting people, I also like to read their FB or journals page or groups and time to time will reply to their post(s). More often I’ll respectfully just sit back and read because some posts aren't meant to have comments and in the past I have been snapped at for giving someone encouraging words. I’m also not "adding people" just to "make my FB or journal friends numbers look good". I also don't like it when fake people add me for this reason. Another thing that I've been seeing lately with "people wanting to add me" is for dating. Seriously? When "you” check out my user info it states that I'm "married". It's not one of these open marriages where one or both spouses get off by diddling someone else and everything's okay with it. If the other person, who is adding me, lives their life that way, fine, but not this chickie. As stated earlier, I know many different people, which include of (all genders); married, divorced, widow/widower, single, in a relationship of some kind - whether dating steadily or causal. If you're looking for something other than friendship, Dude (btw, I call everyone Dude), this is journal, not Tinder or Plenty of Fish or any of those other dating websites.

If there's anything else you'd like to know about me within reason, don't be afraid to ask...I don't bite much. Now if you’ll excuse me, the song of people is call and the Keurig is almost finished brewing my coffee.
