A belated hello! #introduceyourself

in introduceyourself •  6 years ago  (edited)

So being the slow learner that I am, I didn't introduce myself properly when I first joined Steemit---at least not with the #introduceyourself tag. :'D

Anyway, here goes: I'm a 27 year old painter/illustrator/filmmake-----okay let's just shove all of that into the concise label of visual artist. :P

A little more about myself: I love nature and animals, music ranging from rock n' roll to Indian Classical to old skool hip hop to world music; I love painting and drawing and making films; I adore reading, writing and design---to name a few. ;)

And now for all that juice hatred I have...for: nazis and other bigots---meaning anyone who puts others down based on their race or gender or caste or class---you get the idea.

PS: Thanks a bunch @riotdog for introducing me to Steem! Can't thank you enough. :')

PPS: As an added bonus, here's a picture of one of the walls in my room. ;)

Anyway. Much love, steempunks. <3

Nice introduction @smocaine and what a great piece of art.
Welcome to steemit and I'm surely curious for more, so I'm following now.

Take care and till the next post!

thanks for the follow, mate! imma follow you right back ;)

Checked out your other stuff, looks interesting, do you have some bigger projects that you are working on or planning any?
I've actually been doing some "historical" gaming posts lately, covering noteworthy games released in certain years (just made two about 98 and 2000) and your stuff looks like something that would fit well in games, have you worked with any game devs?

i do indeed have some projects lined up---and i'm actually interested in working with game devs, buuuut i have ot as yet. i'd love t though! anything you have in mind?

Nothing specifically I can recommend, but there's a bunch of indie game devs here (and even more to come) that would certainly benefit from working with a visual artist

I'm definitely game for that! ;)

Any leads?

Hard to tell, I'm following a person - "dreammix" and he currently has some interesting horror-like dev projects, so there might be room for some collaboration

Welcome to Steemit, @smocaine.

That's quite the decorative wall you have there. Visual art is growing here, a long with other creative endeavors, so it shouldn't be too hard to find some folks to hang out with and share ideas and maybe even pull off some collaborations. I guess it just depends on what you would like to do and who's willing to go with you. :)

We could all stand to be a little more accepting of those around us and realize that we aren't perfect and can't really expect others to be either. We can also call hatred what it is and do what we can to abate it. I think Steemit is a good place to do that, though you will undoubtedly find (if you haven't already) that people aren't always on their best behavior, just like anywhere else.

I wish you well, and hope your time spent here is an enjoyable one. :)

thank you for the warm welcome, mate. :)

Nice to meet you smocaine; really jazzed to see more of your art. What part of the world are you in?

hey, likewise, compadre. :) and thank you!
