32 Retro graphics reflect the shortcomings of our society today

Imagine being able to connect two different times through one visual medium. This is what makes the British painter John Holcroft very important. John draws inspirational retro illustrations from screen posters in the 1950s and visualizes some of the world's flaws today.

The term "retro" refers to old "obsolete" designs, which are almost 20 years old, but can refer to a collection of modern designs inspired by the past with its components and presentation.

His sarcastic and exotic works cover contemporary issues such as community dependence on technology, devaluation of the workforce, obesity and politics. His clients include The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Economist, The Independent and Readers Digest, for example.
