Hello Steemit! The Quant Introduced Me!

... I hope this doesn't sound too geeky ...

Well...let's do it. You can call me Noonie, I am a quant trader, which means I like to use math/statistics to mine a lot of data to find market opportunities, in all markets I am allowed to do (or the time allows me to do...). I began to work on this because it was fun, things started to be serious, better and higher. Now I call this my job, live by markets, and breath markets every day. It is still fun, and challenges increase exponentially as time goes by, and it's impossible to get bored.

I am also an engineer, decided to leave industry some years ago when I realized [1] I could make much more science outside the common 24/10/7; [2] be as much as more productive as I was in all my last formal jobs; [3] and that industry would never appreciate my work as it should (it was uncommon to receive some congrats... but words can be fragile when not accompanied of the proper reward, and they never would pay me a fare fraction of the product value I generated to them). I'd mirror Dilbert cartoons for perfect... and I am pretty sure they delayed to understand that several years of high level tech discoveries were inside of my head only. Ok... lessons learned (do not undervalue a good soldier). LOL.

From my perspective, my decision was so right, that there is no turning back. Knowing the dark side of the moon tells me every day that there no other place in the world I would like to be, so live my markets is my place. Staying besides my family all the time, work wherever and whenever I want is a very good way to experiment the real feeling of freedom, self-awareness, and a taste of power and control. Obviously it is not easy, great challenges come with big opportunities to overcome, and everyday a new discovery leads to difficult new choices and risks. But the big rewards, the feeling of self-realization and enrichment are priceless. And sure money is amazing!

Finally I like reserve a good time to practice martial arts to calibrate my mind with my body, play guitar to harmonize my deals, watch tons of japanese animes, read lots of books, and build techno-gadgets sometimes.
