Hello, SteemIt!

hello steemulator.jpg

I have been on the platform for almost a month, posted a few photos, done a lot of reading here, but didn't have a chance to introduce myself. Where are my manners : )

Who am I

I am a medic, working with people of all walks of life, meeting people who are good (sometimes you have to work and be patient to discover that goodness) and courageous, some are getting better and some unfortunately getting worse. I like getting to know people, their families, hear their life stories. I hope to continue doing that on SteemIt, with a curtain of anonymity allowing people to be more of themselves, open, honest and sharing! I also hope I can do the same and speak my mind. Let me know if I get carried away by my emotions.

I am interested in health and medicine. I like Western Medicine, which tries to heal our bodies, and traditional Oriental Medicine, which aims to heal our mind and spirit. I hope there is a merging point evolving between the two, that would include the best from both. In the same time, I am always looking for a shred of evidence from both of them, and don't like reading about snake oil miracles.

I like the art of medicine and seeing medicine in art. As you probably discovered already, my avatar is a fragment of a painting, one of my favorite painters, Rembrandt van Rijn: Anatomy lesson of Dr Nicolaes Tulp.

I enjoy travelling and learning some amateur photography to save the memories from the Road. You will find a story of one of my recent trips to a National Park in Tasmania linked below. I hope to continue sharing those memories here and on my Instagram account.

A person I follow here, @aburmeseabroad, recently wrote in her post about traveling being a privilege. I couldn't agree more, a privilege it is. Yet the more I travel and see beautiful places, meet more people, the more I feel that my home and my family is where I belong, where I am happy to return to after a long road, put up my feet and say: I am home!

Why I am here

I learned about SteemIt from a person I am following on YouTube, @rulesforebels (make sure to check him out if you have any interests in Internet ecommerce, Amazon Merch and many other useful things!) So I thought, let's take a look. And I liked what I saw: lots of interesting people from all over the world, heaps of stuff to learn, and instead of charging for this SteemIt pays you for posting and voting. It cant be real! Well, so far I haven't made any money, so maybe it is not real for an average person like myself. But I don't think there is anything wrong with "incentivizing" our talents and encouraging people to write and post : )

I see people here being excited by blockchain and crypto currencies theme. I don't know anything about it, but hope that SteemIt could be more than "money making version" of BookFace and we can discuss other things as well.

Like so many people I hope to make this world just a little bit better, but I think the way to do it first and foremost by improving and developing myself - some say this this the only thing one can truly influence and change in this world. So I am always looking for ways to better myself and stimulate my personal growth, hence my nickname: @steemulator - sorry about the misspelling : )

Thank you to

  • everyone who voted and left comments on my posts
  • all who answered my noob questions here and on Discord (sorry guys, I will have more of those in the future too, please be patient :)
  • @rulesforrebels for prompting me to learn about SteemIt
  • other users, who put a lot of effort to create guides for minnows like myself. I will mention here only some of my favorites: @jerrybanfield, @paulag - you will find many more on the list of people I follow
  • One of my favorite go-to guides is Steemithelp.com, by @thecryptofiend If you just starting on Steemit, read it!
  • members of the Ukrainian community, who have offered their encouragement and invited me to join it. You will find the community invitation (EN-UA) here.

Welcome to Steemit @steemulator, I have upvoted and sent you a tip. Check my blogs if you are looking for tips on how to earn more Steem and SBD.

Thank you, will do.

Welcome to Steemit! I too hope that TCM and Western medicine can somehow come together for the best of both worlds, although I think the pharmaceutical companies would lose a lot of business and they're not about to let that happen.
Following and looking forward to your posts

Thank you! It's a good point, about the big pharma. Let's hope they don't have full control of everything : )

Hello @steemulator ! When I introduced myself here, I received so many welcome replies. That made me feel good and part of the group, almost like family. So I wanted to give back. Welcome to the site! 😀

Much appreciated, Eduardo! I am a big fan of your photoart, always looking to see more of it here.
