Adventurer, Author, Sailor - Hey there, Steemit!

Hey there, Steemit,

I'm a sailor by profession; specifically a United States merchant mariner. I spend half my year out on an oil tanker, in the position of navigation officer. It's quite a bit of work - 12 non-consecutive hours a day - but it affords me a ton of time with my family when I'm not at work. I guess the ocean isn't that bad, either. Seeing the sky with no light pollution is a trip.

On the side, I'm an amateur author and freelance writer. My preferred genre is adventure, and I have a long standing series that takes place during World War I and its aftermath. The series stars Eve "Chance" Masters as she deals with everything from German saboteurs to mystical artifacts. I have also been known to write science fiction - you can find the first part of my Neo-Noir murder mystery posted right here on Steemit!

Obviously, I have an interest in cryptocurrency. I've been trading for a bit now, and seeing 36% return on my investment, I'm inclined to stick around! It's exciting. I'm also an avid Overwatch player and a fan of the Dallas Fuel team from Overwatch League.

I think Steemit, and Steemgigs, have a lot of potential - so here's to seeing how they advance as a community.
