I shall introduce myself as a Messenger of a most important long forgotten truth, both lost and suppressed. The majority of our modern western world Earth Realm have been conditioned to fear the sun. We are warned to wear hats, sunglasses and soak up chemical creams to "protect" oneself from the light circling above. I was afraid too; "never look directly into the light" is what I've been told. So I began to research. Why? Says who? I found that Aztecs, Egyptians, Indians, Mayans, and Chinese all have traditions surrounding looking towards the sunrise sunlight, and open-eye "exercises", facing the rising sun. I was surprised to uncover a plot twist I'd not anticipated; we've been made fearful of sunlight, without any real cause. We could be superhuman, but we've been sold human, and know no different.
I could not find any cases of "Sungazers who got it wrong". Where are all the people who burned their eyes out?! Where has the myth come from? As I became more enlightened, and energised by this natural anti-depressant Sunlight therapy, I was eager to share this secret. Which is why I am writing this. I have been doing it, experiencing sungazing for many years. I feel fearless, in comparison to who I once was.
Let's answer some simple questions. Have you ever watched a Sunset...? Then you have looked at the Sun, already. Have you ever "burned your eyes out”...? Have you ever met anyone who has "burned their eyes out”...?! Maybe all this fear-around-the-Sun is misguided.
“ When we see the sun, we feel energetic ”
-- HRM - Hira Ratan Manek
Many of us even feel S.A.D. - Seasonal Affective Disorder, when we do not get enough Sunlight in our lives. When we combine this with eating SAD (Standard American Diet) we're absorbing very little Sun-Nutrition. No wonder we're not feeling enLightened! We are suffering from severe mal-nutrition, and mal-illumination -Not enough LiGht. Light is a vital Nutrient, required for Life. We are told to wear sunglasses and sunblock, yet we all naturally gravitate towards holidays ...in the Sun. No-one's booking weeks off work to sit indoors, under awful florescent light frequencies, ....are they?
During the early hours of Sunrise & evening Sunset the UV-Index is 0-1, you can stare directly into the beauty of our Sun with your bare eyes, with no needless hysteria. And definitely
NO Sunglasses! That's another subject.
"Sungazing awakens spiritual faculties in the individual which were previously dormant."

Picking up the heaviest weight in the gym is only considered dangerous if done so by a beginner. The weight itself is not dangerous, it can very beneficial –when used correctly, incrementally. Our Sun is no different. Dispel your mind- programmed-fears for just long enough to consider some truths. The sun's rays enter the brain via the optic nerve, stimulating the pituitary gland to secrete HGH -Human Growth Hormone.
This stimulates and significantly boosts the entire immune system, as well as strengthening the eyes themselves and delivering vitamin D via the occular endocrine system. Vitamin D, by the way, is not a vitamin...... it is a hormone. The master ruling hormone of all glands & hormone secretions; the key to unlock ultimate healthy-function. Now you see why Vitamin D deficiency is so common in our mal-illuminated lives.
Deficiency in Vitamin D = S.A.D.
PhotoTherapy / Light Therapy - is just that. Light is used as Medicine. Depressed people are not prescribed a pill by the doctor, they are prescribed a Light. The SAD bulb... How can this combat depression? Good Question...
If you want some reassurance that you won't burn your eyes out then I can tell you from my personal experience that I have been staring into the Sun for over a year now and have “enLiGhtened” up myself to 44minutes per day. I did this incrementally ONLY DURING SAFE HOURS: SUNRISE & SUNSET. I began small and worked my way up. Beginning with 30 seconds or a minute. Maybe two. Whatever is comfortable. You are not accustomed to this intensity of Light, and there is no race to the end of the rainbow. Take your time. Each day increase minutes..... and observe how you FEEL. Increase incrementally. Do your research. Learn to know-thy-Self.
You don't find SunGazing...... SunGazing finds you.
I recommend you research sungazing if it interests you, and most importantly; experience the subject, before making wildly blind assumptions. Pun intended. Your eyes constantly absorb a broad spectrum of colour, frequency and light-information, all of which are positive and energizing.. Certain frequencies/colours have certain effects on mood & well-being. For example; did you know that pink-tinted lights/sunglasses induce negative behaviour patterns in people and increase tumours in rats by over 40%..? The brain cannot detect correct light frequencies through most types of glass. Get outside. Take your glasses off as often as possible, they are starving you of UV. It's worth noting that the quality of UV emitted from Televisions will kill a plant if that is it's only light source. Less TV, more Sunlight...
How can you even claim to truly know what the Sun is....... ?
If you feel drawn to Sun Gazing you'll have to get up early.... set an alarm for Sunrise, get out there somewhere you can see it rise. Get into the Circadian Rhythms of our Earth-clock and sleep like a baby.
It's quite rare that we stand still. We may sit. Walk. Drive.... but when was the last time you
stood, undistracted, completely stationary, rooted in the Earth, barefoot not moving? Being still while the world whizzes by presses a peaceful PAUSE button on our lives while you admire a more energizing beauty... this gains you some unspoken insightful light information. It takes approx 9- months to journey from Solar “beginner” to 44minute-er.
And finally, can you tell us, why you stare at the Sun...?
"Im still working on that... "
Nikolay Dolgorukiy is my sungazing hero. I did the Indian sungazing practice for awhile - you know the guys who put silver dollar on their forehead?
Has sungazing opened your third eye? What have you personally experienced from it?

Welcome sungazing!
This is an interesting topic and I am usually interested in exploring ideas and processes that many consider unconventional. I remember watching a documentary some time ago called "Eat the Sun". The documentary mentioned that the person who was gazing at the sun, did have some eye damage in the end. Have you seen this documentary? What are you thoughts?
