Alternative energy lava field - Kalapana, HI

Hi, my name is Nicholas and I’d like to add value to the steemit community.

I’m a home school student with a background in creating and model making. I like building machines and have always looked at the world and thought “how does this work?” My first true passion was learning about my computer. I’m fascinated with how much there is to know, it would seem impossible to learn it all. With time and practice I became more confident with my skills and was able to grow them into a successful repair business.

A few years ago I moved to the big island of Hawaii in search of something new to learn and have been building projects here ever since.

Believe me, it looks beautiful in a picture but the environment is harsh here. If I look one direction the ocean is splashing on the cliff sending a cloud of salt in with the wind. If I look in the other direction I’m watching lava pour down the hillside.

No shit, I’m in the middle of an active lava field.

And what am I doing here? Removing fried centipedes from electronics.

Ok, I’ve only had to do that a couple times, but you get the idea, the environment = harsh.

Like many others I’ve had my solar electronics fail. So often that it became mandatory to understand how the circuits worked in order to repair them. In the process I’ve come up with some interesting designs that I want to share like this high power arduino solar controller. I feel like this inexpensive design is basic enough that anyone with soldering skills could put it together.

I’m really into alternative energy electronics and would like to connect with like minded people that are building a better tomorrow. I believe energy independence is getting cornered with rules and regulations that make it more problomatic than it needs to be.

I wish for a world in which people understand the energies of our universe in such a way they can harness it for their own betterment.

I’m going to forever ingrain into this block chain my acquired knowledge in order to help others and improve this community.
