Steeming for the New Year

Hello! I am totally new here, but not to crypto.

I heard about steemit on btc talk a while back but never came over for a look. Big mistake! My main interests are investing, music, conspiracies, and anything interesting (not necessarily in that order). While I have yet to really dig in, this community appears to offer the best of places like Reddit or Facebook without the crap. Add crypto, shake, and BAM! A site I wish I joined when it started.

As an investor I tend to look for irrationally priced assets. Usually I buy stocks, but after Mt. Gox crashed and MSM BTC coverage was doom and gloom, I decided to investigate. Often financial reporting has more to do with getting clicks than actual journalism. I had known about Bitcoin for a little while, but it seemed like a silly internet game. But when I took the time to investigate... I'll just say that its a rabbit hole from which I will never escape. From here it looks like everyone else is down the hole. Its really strange to see the same pattern repeating: the bubble has burst, the end is neigh, etc. Only this time we didn't have a Gox Event. I believe the market is being manipulated, but I don't have time for that right now.

Music. I listen to anything and everything depending on my mood. Lately I have been partial to Ton Koopman. Sometimes there are only 12 notes. Other times a performer creates something magical where the sum of the parts equals more than the whole. He plays mostly baroque organ music (I know, right?). But if you are ever interested in something off the beaten path, search Youtube for Ton Koopman.

Conspiracies and UFOs! Well to be honest there are only a few that have been proven such as Project Mkultra. Its mostly nonsense, but once in a while I see something weird. A real genuine mystery. I don't want the answer to be anything in particular, I just enjoy going along for the ride. Forget Roswell. Look at stuff like the 1956 Bentwaters sighting. I don't think for a second that it was aliens. No way. However something was seen both on radar and visually, travelling thousands of miles an hour. Something was there. And at the time no one had anything that could fly that fast that I can find. It is fun to think about! Science occasionally confirms weird things like ball lightning or sprites. Just because it was unidentified does not mean it was aliens. I guess I am mostly skeptical but I like a good mystery.

And what I like most of all is hearing (or reading) other's opinions on anything and everything. The last year or so Google has been completely owned by SEO, to the point that most of what I find is well presented empty content. You know what mean, those blogs that say almost nothing about any particular pair of wireless headphones, but list the ten most expensive ones on Amazon (with affiliate links of course). Usually I get the best stuff from Reddit, but no goddammit I don't want your stupid app or I would have installed it already.
