Hello Steemit! My Introduction Post

Hi Steemers,

As the title says I’m new to steemit so I thought I should introduce myself!

Who am I?

My name is Symeon and I’m from the United Kingdom. My background is in engineering, Mechanical to be precise and I have been working in this sector for over 10 years. My current role is as a design engineer and my work focuses on the renewable industry.

Why steemit?

The best way to support something is to use it!

I first found out about steemit in the summer of 2017, I really liked its use case and it seemed like one of the few things connected to the blockchain space that actually had utility. Unfortunately, I got distracted due to the cryptocurrency bull run at the time and more recently procrastination, due to this I have only got round to creating an account now.

What I will be posting?

I have a passion for film and this will be my main theme, film reviews, trailer reviews and anything else relating to film I think is worth sharing. I also like anything STEM-related (Science, engineering, technology, maths) due to my occupation so I might post things relating to this every once and a while too.

I really like what steemit is trying to achieve and hopefully, I can contribute to its continued growth and global adoption.

I was welcomed with good advice too when I started so here i am. I know that steemit may seem very overwhelming right now but don't worry. After a few blog you will be the best blogger and contributor.

Seven suggestions:

Use your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
Use your active key only for wallet transactions,
The master password is only to reset compromised passwords,
DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written without credit,
An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.

The cryptocurrency mania is what initially got me interested in the space.....my focus now is to try and support all aspects of the technology that have utility such as steemit.

If the bull does decide to charge again that's an added bonus!

That is what it's all about!!

Community... decentralized freedom! We are ALL small pieces, working together to make the WHOLE a beautiful place. You will get a lot of people welcoming you, and I hope you do! Just remember...ALWAYS use proper citation and sources for your posts. A simple "All photos were taken by me"... or get fancy and show the device...ANYTHING to keep you from getting heat from people like SteemCleaners etc. Engagement is key!! A nice response...substantive replies other than..."nice post!"

Lol....once you start getting into this place, it is VERY addictive. But watch your Voting Power... never let it go below 80%...all of these things and more can be learned at our dear @steemterminal... I will even give you a free taxi at the end of my reply! It's good to see you here, and I wish you luck in ALL of your endeavors...

Amen to that! The objective should decentralized freedom in all aspects of our lives. How long it takes us to get there.. if at all is the question. If I can contribute in some small way to this happening then great!

Thanks for the heads up on the citation and sources. I have seen this mentioned in a few posts I have been looking through, will keep it in mind.

Looking at my post I can see how it might sound like that!

I found out about steemit in 2017 due to the cryptocurrency craze but never got round to create an account. I was way too preoccupied at the time with the bull run that would obviously continue to go up.......

Classic FOMO
