I'm Rithwik. And this is how I started developing apps last yr as a 15 year old.

I have gravitated towards cool technology for as long as I can remember. If there is something novel in the tech space, I have to get my hands on it. Whether it be through working hard to purchase the product or going to the store to test it, I always find a way to try the products I lust for. With this desire to try products, comes my desire to solve problems.

One such problem was losing my phone while travelling abroad. I had Android Device Locator on, so why wasn’t I able to locate my phone? Turns out, I had my internet off - a common practice in developing countries in order to conserve mobile data. With internet off, there was no way for me to connect to my phone remotely. My idea for the solution was GPSMS, an Android App that lets users find their phone with a simple text message. This idea could be a potential game changer not only for me, but for overseas markets. Through self-study, I developed and published the app on the play store, where it attained over 20,000 active users. I realized that computer science is like a magic paintbrush. After understanding how the paintbrush works, one can create anything.

I went on to build apps like Juke, an app that turns your phone into a jukebox that lets your friends request songs with SMS and Currexo - a currency exchange assistant. Can't wait to make more and share my journey here with you Steemians!!!
