Native Texan, Immigrant Steemian.

I am 25 years old and studying architecture at University of Texas at Arlington. I live in a house near Fort Worth, TX with my dog and my lizard. I live a few minutes away from @gardenofeden ...I wouldn't have heard of steemit if not for them.

I have worked in construction for about ten years and hope to some day run my own design-build firm in Texas. My dream is to assist people in creating beautiful and low cost buildings and neighborhoods. More on that in later posts.

I hope my time on Steemit will pay for itself, but I also hope to make new friends who share common interests and vision. I am perpetually working on several building, cooking, or gardening experiments at once. I do these things because they are innately rewarding, but I'm excited that I could get paid just for sharing it with others! So, follow me if you like that kind of thing.

I also have a lot of stories to tell!

By the way, my birth name is Graham, but after being baptized in the Orthodox Church, I took the name Nikolai after St. Nikolai of Serbia. Stay tuned to read about why I converted to Orthodox Christianity.

Today in the garden: mustard, okra, beans, squash, melons, tomatillo, and buckwheat.

Steemit, meet Sky. She's two and a half. My former roommates lost her to the pound after she escaped. They couldn't afford to pay for her boarding/healthcare, so I adopted her and she's been a joy in my life since January 2017!

Steemit, meet Zack. He's fifteen. He's been with me over half my life! He has been swimming in 3 large bodies of water, including the Gulf of Mexico, and he is the father of 25 babies.
