Hey Steemit! This is Karley Hoffman here. I am the creator behind Twisted Pine Pottery. I was inspired by @colinhoward to join because he doesn't stop talking so highly about it!
I have been playing with clay since I was in middle school but it wasn't until college that I was really drawn to the medium and found my passion deep in the dirt. After college, I traveled for half the year with my now fiance @colinhoward. We then moved from Michigan to Denver, Colorado. I found myself after 3 years in the corporate world completely unfulfilled.
I decided to take my life in my own hands and get back into the mud! I find so much joy in creating with clay. It keeps me humbled, and it literally centers me. The possibilities within ceramics are endless and maybe that's why I'm so drawn to it; there's never a dull moment.
I currently make functional pottery and a lot of the creation process recently has been centered around glaze experimentation. I love thinking about how a mug or a cup is going to rest on your lips or within the grip of your hand. I think there's something to be said about with the intimate relationship we have with the vessels that carry the sustenance to nourish our bodies.
