Hello, Steemit world!

I'm Stephanie, a writer, artist, and entrepreneur living in the Pacific Northwest, equally inspired by the beauty of the natural world and by spirituality and metaphysics. This picture isn't the most recent, but I think it captures my energy best:

I learned about Steemit from my husband  (@tarack ) and joined yesterday, intrigued by the concept of a cryptocurrency-socialmedia mashup  and wondering if there was a creative community here. A little poking around, and yes, there are other artists and writers steeming. I look forward to meeting you all! 

Venus de Hilo is a name I began using a few years ago for my creative business while living in Hilo, Hawaii. Although I moved from Hawaii back to the mainland US last winter (a story I'll share in another post), I'll remain "Venus de Hilo" forever in my creative and online lives.

In recent years that creativity has mostly been focused on quilt making. I find it strangely satisfying to cut up beautiful fabrics and sew the pieces back together:
