Hello Nice to Meet You... I'm Village Gal!

Hello 你好! Please let me introduce myself.

My name is Paula AKA Village Gal! Born in an awesome little village in the southeastern Toisan area of China, I immigrated with my family to Canada at the age of 7. Being mom to a sweet and smart daughter who's reached double digits in her age now, I'm often kept on my toes, and learning and growing everyday 🙂

I love living in beautiful British Columbia, surrounded by opportunities to enjoy nature along with fabulous multiculturalism found in the Vancouver and surrounding area... which translates to LOTS of amazing food choices!!

Summer has arrived with a gorgeous first day filled with sunshine yet balanced with a cool breeze for the perfect temperature! Lots of lovely flowers are in bloom with bright vibrant colours to entice us with feelings of bliss and gratitude. Scenic drives as well as hiking and camping opportunities in the great outdoors fill my mind with joy and anticipation!

I have been blessed with dearly cherishable travels including trips to the outstanding San Diego Zoo and super fun Legoland, and Japan where we had the chance to check out the wonderfully scrumptious local fare as well as Tokyo's Disneyland.

A road trip with stops at gorgeous Banff and Lake Louise through to Calgary and Edmonton brings back fond memories of my daughter bonding with her grandparents.

Living and working in Daegu, Korea for a very special jam-packed year of spectacular food and outdoor activities, and subsequently being able to return with my family to visit friends and taste the familiar flavours of local dishes was a dream come true! I also simply loved visiting our hometown in China where the fresh mountain air literally sang softly in our ears and boosted already healthy appetites.

Through my stays as a guest at various accommodations in North America and Asia, I realized what a huge difference a few small touches can make. Over the last year, together with help from family, we had been able to set up our rental property as an Airbnb and enjoy a lovely hosting adventure. Achieving Superhost status and getting to meet and host guests from different parts of the world has been an absolute honour and pleasure! I will be sharing some experiences from this wonderful journey.

Other topics I plan on writing about include food, nature & outdoors, kids & family, my immigration stories, learning a new language, art and doodles, cool Japanese anime, and inspiration & spotting joy in the ordinary. I look forward to meeting you here on Steemit and getting to know you!
