Hello Steemit Community.
So... who am I?
I am a father and husband in Southern California. I am a veteran of the Marine Corps but currently a stay-at-home dad. I have a dog and a cat. I mine ethereum and do my best to stay in shape. I am currently working on learning about machine learning through Coursera.
My handle is a bastardization of the latin words for "man of tomorrow". While not directly a meant as a homage to Superman, I am a fan. In my view Superman is the best hero because he is the most aspirational. Superman does the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Superman was not traumatized at a young age, nor did he really have any sort of seminal hero making event. He was raised in an idyllic American mid-west small town and as an adult does what is right. Historically he is an excellent barometer for the state of the American psyche.
My handle is also meant to convey my belief that man is the controller of his own destiny. Any problem we encounter we can solve. Throughout my live I have been an avid reader of science fiction and that has likely colored my worldview.

Hi viratum-cras, welcome to Steemit! I'd be curious to know how your studies go with the machine learning. I purchased a couple AI/machine learning courses through Udemi but haven't set aside the time to go through them yet. Also, I too am in SoCal. Orange County!
