Hello to the Steemit Community! Introducing the band We Happy.

We Happy is vibe with an edge - alternative rock with a female voice in a feel-good indie pop groove. We are from Scottsdale (Phoenix area) Arizona, USA.

This account will journal our on-going story and behind-the scenes activities of the band, band members, who are are, and how we got here to Steemit! We'll be adding more narrative to our Steemit posts than we do on other social media.

We will have new episodes frequently as we provide some historical information about the band. But mostly we'll be documenting our current efforts, including the release of our most recent studio recording and lyric video, our first live performance, touring, a crowd-sourcing campaign, and all the activities leading up to releasing a full-length album of 10 original songs.

We look forward to the feedback and conversation with fellow Steemians, music fans, and anybody who wants to know what it's like being an independent band and musicians trying to make a living with our musicial talents.

ABOUT WE HAPPY
We Happy was officially launched on March 1, 2015, with 4 songs and a music video. We immediately began plans for a full length album, half of which has now been recorded with Phoenix-area Producer and Engineer Curtis Douglas (Katastro, Sundressed, The Maine).

We Happy has spent the last year writing and rehearsing the first 5 songs, and the new track Shaggy hit iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, and more on June 15, 2017. A lyric video was also released. Shaggy will be followed by other singles to be released in coming months.

We Happy will play our first live show on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Wasted Grain in Scottsdale AZ, as part of the Arizona School of Rock 5 Year Rockiversary Celebration.

While we haven’t played a show yet, We Happy members have been busy working with other artists.

Our lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Katie Grenert regularly performs on bass and sings in the galactic punk band Miles To Nowhere, and also plays keyboard and sings in the reggae band Neato, both based in Tempe. Katie recently appeared as backup vocalist on the track "Mill Ave. and Broadway" by the local band Sundressed, and sings with them on ocassion.

Katie's brother and lead guitarist Robert Grenert has performed with other local bands as well, including FauxFX (NOFX cover), and Versions of You.

Our drummer Maxwell Young has done his share of studio work, and is playing with Sundressed on their tour with Anarbor in July 2017.

Katie, Robert, and Maxwell are also music teachers. Katie and Robert teach at the School of Rock Scottsdale, and Maxwell teaches at Kirk’s Studio for the Performing Arts.

The members of We Happy are most known for their previous band No Longer Together, which started in 2007. No Longer Together were winners of the 2008 Alice Cooper's "Proof is in the Pudding" musicial talent search contest. As of 2014 the members had matured and it was time for something new called We Happy.
