Most people here like quality content and good photos. A brand new user posting about asking for followers makes you look like spam. Look around the site and see what sucessful people are posting about and follow people with the same interests as you are planning on blogging about. Organic followers who truly like your content are much more valuable than upvote for upvote and follow for follow because they're not going to engage with you in the future; nor will other legit users. Mass following with very few followers won't get you many followers because of the ratio of following vs followers.
