Before I have to dive into blogging on this new-found interesting website, I would like to introduce myself first and let you know about some bits of me. I'm Zozby
How I discovered Steemit.com and What really it is
I had seen this motto on a random advertisement online before I actually browsed on Steemit.com. I'm trying to recall it but I couldn't. However, this quote really got me wondering which lead me to doing a research about this website. This website isn't as popular as Facebook, Instagram or other social media platform since most people nowadays are more into sharing things about themselves and connecting with people they're very acquainted with.
Although there are still some people on those popular social media platforms already know about Steemit, I've realized based on talking about people I know that Majority of the people don't have any idea what Steemit is all about. Like for me, there's been only 2 out of every 10 people who recognize the existence of such website for the past 3 years. (But I don't know if ever you would agree with me.) Those numbers are only based on my own research.
I'm the type of person who likes journaling and writing. Most of the time, whenever I'm bothered at something, I scribbled on basically what's on my mind and I do this as my coping memchanism to fight down stress. So when I discovered steemit, I have a strong feeling that "this" could appeal to my personality.
Not a person has told me that our voice could be worth something, nor anyone has recommended me to join on that website. I just discovered it haphazardly online and then realized this could probably where I'd rather choose to share my ideas on than on Facebook. (No offense to facebook fanatics)
When it has been said that "our voice is worth something", yes it's indeed true. You have no idea how much do famous Steemians make from a single post.
This could be a great opportunity for aspiring and amateur writers in the world who have special talents in creative writing while wanting to earn from what they love doing. One could earn this so-called Steemit dollars from the quality and quantity of likers of someone's blog. This could be a good passive income for those who like to monetize their hobby (if that's the case for the others).
This is one of my first impressions about Steemit. Bloggers on this website are free to share their ideas regardless of what niche they are interested in. There are no set of rules in writing (not to mention yet about the Markdown and HTML codes to make the blog more appealing to the readers) and it depends on them what writing styles they want to use. They can write anything they want even if they're making Diary-like contents, reflections about a subject or if they're conveying gleaned ideas into writing.
However, they cannot and shouldn't plagiarize their content because it can ruin the writers' integrity. There could be prying bots out there that can easily identify and determine posts in which the content is plagiarized or not. So might as well, one must as much as possible write an authentic content. If they glean certain ideas from any source such as whether from another's blog, a search engine or a book, they can still convey the idea into writing by paraphrasing and giving credits to the source.
My Expectation in Steemit
Having been slightly familiar about what steemit is, I'm looking forward to improving myself as a writer. I admit that English is not my primary language, but I believe in "connection, not perfection", as long as I am able to get my ideas across to people in the simplest way of expressing. There is no such thing as perfect but by practicing writing content in Steemit, I believe that I can improve over time.
I'm also looking forward that I would be able to learn about many random things from other people's content. There are lot of intersting niches on steemit that I believe I can relate with and find inspiration from.
I guess that's all I can say about Steemit now let's dive into introducing small bits of me.
Who Am I?
To be honest, there isn't really so interesting about me. I'm just a simple person, a female Filipino Expat who now lives in Qatar and is trying to find my self after being broken by life's challenges. I am someone who is about to discover my own interests and passion. Like any other Overseas workers around the world, I am presently working using my profession as a nurse while supporting my family in the Philippines.
More about Myself
Did you know that my past worst experiences brought me here in a foreign country.? I wasn't really planning on going abroad and joining the OFW life in the first place until I got overwhelmed by my past heartaches in my hometown. Not to be trivial about my life, but I have to be honest with you that I had been brokenhearted before I eventually decided to leave eveything behind.
My life a year ago was in complete chaos, it's like eveything were falling apart on my end. My lovelife was ruined in a worst way you can imagine, I lost my job suddenly and got disheartened by certain people I love and I trust. Such experience led me into severe depression for several months. However, I was able to cope up with the help of few friends, family and MYSELF. Right now, I'm absolutely fine with where I am and of how I feel about myself. Despite of being hurt so much from the PAIN in the past, I was able to learn many things from such experience positively.
When I say " introvert", I'm not referring to myself as an anti-social, loner, unfriendly and dumb who doesn't talk at all to anyone. I hate when people misunderstood me as any of those characteristic traits.
I'm just the type of person who doesn't really talk "too much" to the point I could talk about frivolous things such as gossips or small-tAlk. People, most of the time often judge me as aloof when I refuse sometimes to their invitation such as parties or any gatherings. There are just times when I prefer having time for myself than hanging out always to people I barely know. I enjoy "me time" especially when I have to breathe fresh air from being worn-out by stressors.
I'm a good listener as one of the characteristics of an introvert. I listen to anyone who has been through a hard time in life. You can count on me for emotional support and as a confidant of your secrets. I don't kiss-and-tell.
I really mean it when I said earlier that I'm a writer. Although I haven't got into any freelance writing jobs online, I am a writer by heart. It is really my hobby and my way to cope with stress. I have had a bunch of old diaries and handwritten articles before stored on my attic which proves I really scribbled about almost anything under the sun. I also made fiction stories when I was very young.
Another hobby that I've been doing right now is reading. And I find it preferrable than any other hobby that takes up most of my free time. I read at least 2 books per month that consumes most of my off duties and leisure time. Before, I was so fond of fictional romance stories but now I am most interested on Self-improvement books and certain books that talk about success, business and financial literacy. You'll find out later on one of my future blogs about important things I learned from those books
Being optimistic, can really change the outcome. I'm not saying my life depends on my level of optimism but it drives me to be more hopeful in life. It drives me to get by in life, making my way through day by day to survive all struggles I encounter.
I can tackle generally about anything topics in Steemit regardless it is something interesting or not. But there are certain "Niches" that I am mostly inclined to discuss:
I'll be sharing my ideas to you on one of my future posts. I'm looking forward to getting to know you on the comments section! Keep posted! . and see you around!
