Steem or Steam?
“Ignoratium non excusiam!” The law inclined in the house should pardon me if I used the classic wrongly but the quoted statement is one I got to know during my early days in uni, where I was told in the student affairs unit that ignorance is not an excuse. Well that’s a story for another day. Why did I use the classic? The first time I heard of steem, I got the spelling wrongly as I was familiar with Steam through my baby nephew who is a game freak. He always complain that his mum needs to get him steam giftcard whenever she goes to the store, by the way they are not naija based.
Wait! That’s very rude of me, I am writing an introductory post and I didn’t even introduce myself. Introductory post indeed. For sake of familiarization, I was christened with the name Modupeoluwa(I thank God) I don’t know the reason for their gratefulness but I guess having the mother and child alive is enough to be grateful. Child labour isn’t easy(not like I’ve given birth to any, but at least I’ve seen the way it is portrayed in movies) most especially in a country like mine that lack basic healthcare needs.
And yup, that’s me😊
Growing up was like that of any Nigerian in an average home but I wouldn’t like to talk about my growing up now, it is all in the past. We can choose a day to visit the past. I finished university a month ago and all I’ve been doing is tour the country, I really deserve a break from the early morning class, unprepared test and assignment that hold no marks. The question on mind now is what next after school? I hope I find answers one of this days before NYSC decides to call me to serve my fatherland which has refused to serve me.
Did I remember to tell you that I’m a football addict and a proud Manchester United fan, yes I’m mancunian and I’m scared my love for football might be the reason why my future husband would send me packing most especially if he is not a football addict or a supporter of rival team. I might decide to starve him food or even burn the house while watching football. I look forward to Manchester United winning the Europa cup, I will do giveaway for people. I’m a lady with a good heart and wonderful sense of humor. It would all be a faux, if I tell you the good thing about me and I refuse to mention my strong weakness, I’m easily influenced by friends. What do you think could be the cause of that? My confidant said it is because I’m stupid and have low self esteem but I feel he is wrong. Kindly tell me how to go about resisting friends influence on my decision.
