Who is Canadian-Coconut? An Introduction

in introduction •  8 years ago  (edited)

My name is Linda. I’m an unschooling mom to 3 amazing children, ages 11, 8 and 5.
They have never spent a day in a school.
I am so glad that I found this way of natural learning and allowing my children to enjoy their childhood to it's fullest. I’m a stay-at-home mom. It is what I always knew I would do once I had children - just like my mom was at home for me. Children didn’t come along until I was 34 years old.

My wonderful husband works currently as an Excavator Operator but may return to being a Scenic Carpenter in the film industry again soon. (He recently worked on Season 2 of Wayward Pines and the new season of Prison Break.)

Raphael built our lovely, big house on half an acre in a small mountain town of BC, Canada. We have lived here for 7 years now.
The children LOVE, LOVE, LOVE where we live
There is a sand pit beside us and a mountain right behind it, with lots of trails to explore.

Don't you love my kitchen? My favorite appliance is my Stone Grain Mill!

I live an alternative lifestyle in several ways; the unschooling of course, but also homebirthing, extended breastfeeding, co-sleeping, non-vaccinating, gentle parenting and prepping for the coming financial collapse.
I am learning new things all the time, and love to share info with others. I can’t keep quiet when I’ve learned something exciting – so I might as well share it here on Steemit!

I hope that you enjoy my articles and thoughts. I look forward to being a contributing member of Steemit!

As I am reading this post today after one year, I wold like say that the most valuable thing which inspires me is that you got a little amount on this post but you never left trying. This a very important thing to me. This post is saying something which is something unique and that is unschool. Your lifestyle is such as you are a well educated lady. A lots of love to you.

Your last image in this blog that is all you need is love and coconut oil. I also need to your love.

@canadian-coconut I mentioned you so that you can have a look on this comment too.

Beautiful! I absolutey love that there's a mountain behind it too. My cousins live in Vermont and I'm always enthralled with mountain backdrop when we visit :)

Thanks. Yes, I do live in a beautiful place. I love mountains too.

It's cool that we can reply on old posts now, I keep forgetting about that feature.

Oh, I just resteemed Paul's new post, it's really neat! He's introducing a series he's going to be doing, and he made a stained glass window, with a steemit logo in the center, so there's a bunch of pictures of it.

Hello Linda! I am in Ontario and didnt have my babies till I was in my early 30's as well. They are now 13 and 15 (15 yr old was dx with MS) but healing her naturally, and wish I could go back in time and unschool them. But you do better when you know better!! Look foward to reading your posts! Likeminded :)

Nice to meet you here on Steemit and find another like-minded person. All the best to you .

Awesome! My kinda momma!

We plan a similar family life.
Love it!

Thank you! I'm excited for the journey that you are beginning as a mother too. Nice to meet you on Steemit!

welcome to Steemit. I live in BC too :)

I agree with all your listed alternative lifestyle choices. I am a big coconut oil fan especially. It is good for everything!

#celsius100 - Nice to hear that there are others here who think largely the same way. And yes, Coconut Oil is YUM and oh so healthy.

Thanks for being an inspiration ;-)
I wish I could unschool - not quite there yet...

Thank-you #steemuwe
Maybe you will get there yet! My journey into "alternative" living was gradual. I had to slowly open up to new ways. It would be too tough to do it all at once. The fact that you have considered unschooling means that your mind is open and that is what matters -- maybe it will be a good fit for you and maybe it won't -- just do what works and if something isn't working for your children/family then make the needed changes.

Welcome to steemit. That sounds like a great place to raise a family.

Yes, it is. Thanks!

Welcome to steemit, I have a feeling your going to help so many people on here!

I like that kitchen. Thanks for sharing I don't know what un-schooling means @canadian-coconut

Your a sweet heart for sharing.
Hope is a safer place to be then in the fraser valley.

Thanks again for sharing Howard Ruff and Silver books with me.
I owe you many many thanks.
I will get off my butt and work on my introduction page.
Be well...
