My intro to the Steemit Community

in introduction •  6 years ago

Hello everyone, Happy Holidays! I am the farm-mom, aka Grammy, aka Robin. I have been married to an awesome guy for 43 years. We have three sons and our bonus baby girl #4. Aweee. Now with 5 grand-daughters and 1 grandson my life has been truly blessed. My family means everything to me. Professionally, I was an x-ray technologist for 42 years at the same hospital and I loved my job. Helping others in their time of need was my first priority. I always felt it was my way to give back to my community through compassion, empathy and love for others through my skill and knowledge. At the end of the day, my patients gave back to me more then I could give them, I always felt pride and joy when that simple phrase, THANK YOU, was sent my way.
Now retired and living on our farm in Upstate NY my life is filled with my love of gardening, photography, travel and of course family. Kids and dogs LOVE the farm.IMG_0844.JPG

Did you know I was being nice to you before I even knew you were @thebigsweed wife?? Ha!! Yup, you caught me! ...patting myself on the back, that is.

Now that I know who you are, I’ll need to go find my #follow button, hold please.. wait, almoooosst, got it!

Pleasure to be met. 42 years, I said this to sweed, “way to set an example.”

I love Knoxville, the eastern part of Tennessee is my favorite part of this whole country, I love it there. I’ve been to Nissan stadium, too, in Nashville, love it!! Tennessee people are the nicest, last time we were there, last year I guess.. the Broncos lost and @puravidaville even mentioned how nice everyone was. She’s used to all of the throwing things, cops, cursing—lame! At Nissan stadium when your team loses, the Titans fans are the nicest: in that southern drawl “Hi, did you enjoy yourself? Did you know there’s a fabulous cat fish restaurant across the highway to the rail road tracks and down a scoanch? I have some peanuts, do you want some peanuts? Are ya hungry? You look cold, sweety.”

Welcome to #steemit @farm-mom.

that's funny, we were only in Nashville but yup people were so friendly and fun...

Merry Christmas @farm-mom.

Just a little something to let some people know I think about them.

bare with me (This may read like Chinese today but you’ll forever have these notes in your blockchain and the more you’re active, the more it’ll make sense)

He still hasn’t spotted you some SP? Did you know your Resource Credits are down to 37%? @thebigsweed can explain these things to you. As far as interacting and holding weight to your votes, it’s next to impossible at 37% and the lower you get, the less you’ll be able to access the platform.

I have spotted several Steemit content producers some Steem Power (SP), depending on their engagement practices, the amount varies. I, personally, will spot, for example, an artist who puts out a painting once a week and engages with their followers, 25 SP. My goal from that point is to get them to 50 SP on their own. I’ll keep their https://steemd.com/@-Steemithandle pulled up on my browser so I can keep an eye on them and do some mentoring/suggesting if necessary. 25 SP will afford them their weekly #art.

Daily content producers or really good initiatives around here like @foodfightfriday I try to spot a minimum of 50 SP. 50 will allow articles with multiple images, plenty of engagement and an all-Round good start at Steemit. Again, I’ll keep my eye on them and usually I don’t pull back the delegation, I’ll either allow it to run or increase it.

Show these notes to @thebigsweed (I say that because I’ve been trying to get that guy to pay attention to his Steemworld.org account for frikkin weeks... nope), he can probably help you make sense of them.

Easiest numbers is just have him double what I delegate to good initiatives, spot you 100 SP and you’ll be able to engage and interact freely. I sent him the link to my delegation post I did several months back with step by step instructions how to do that. Here:
https://steemit.com/steemit/@dandays/how-to-delegate-sp-steemworld-org

Alright, there’s a post size response to hang onto for awhile, I hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. @dandays I went to https://steemit.com/steemit/@dandays/how-to-delegate-sp-steemworld-org
and followed your directions to the tee.
Here is what happened.

If you see the OK button at the bottom of this pic, I figured that by hitting that, everything would be OK. Not so, all it did by hitting the OK button was to return me to the previous picture. After several attempts, and with the computer acting funny I was about to pull my
This kind of s--t I leave up to my son @ryan313. Before ever starting to get involved on Steemitm, my son reassured me that he would take total responsibility for manuvers like this. He has done exactly that, including trading, buying, investigating wallets and learning all that is necessary to successfully and securely operate all of the wallets.
He is in Florida with the family this week, and I had made arrangements for him to purchase $150 of Steem while on vacation, and then deposit in the farm-mom's wallet.
Have not heard from him in the past couple of days and the last thing I want to do is bug him while on vacation.
As the price of Steem continues to go down, I am glad he has not made the purchase yet, as it seems that I will get a little more bang for my buck now.
As far as Steemworld.org goes, I have been using ever since # puravidaville turned me onto it. I have also added this site to Farm-mom's favorites, and have given her a quick tutorial.
At this point I am just going to put off any further attempts to power-up farm-mom's wallet until my son either Purchases Steem for her, or until he can walk me through every step of the delegation process.
With #farm-mom being in NJ visiting our son and daughter, the heat is off.
She needs to get her fix of Grandchildren.
While she is gone, I hope to have the very last job completed on our home before her return. With my son Bobby visiting for a week, it may be possible.
It is going to take a lot of asses and elbows, but we should be able to put down all of the flooring in a couple of loooong days.
Nothing like some free labor.
Again, looking out for both the bigsweed and farm-mom is greatly appreciated. All of #dandays and #puravidaville's guidance and support continues to amaze the both of us. Just one simple example is in the efforts in your above reply.

Thanks guys!!!!!

@thebigsweed, your only issue was the Satoshi, you didn’t enter the Satoshi properly. Delegating is simple man, don’t trip.

Go through those steps again, just like you did but the delegation amount should be 500.0 not 500. The issue is the three zeros after the decimal. 500.0 <- piece o’ cake dude! My pleasure telling you everything I know... any time!

Eh, let’s knock this out before she gets home! Deal?

Hello, we are trying to figure it out, at least @thebigsweed is, my son will be home soon and will take care of it for me. I guess I should stop participating until I can get powered up. But thanks for helping.

My pleasure. It didn’t used to be like that. The most recent hard fork to the block chain implemented resource credits. “Bandwidth” is what our votes used to be measure in, now it’s different. Supposedly it’s an attempt to detour spamming, I don’t know?? Unfortunately it made our platform a ‘pay to play,’ so to speak.

Welcome to steemit!
