Hello world, hello Steemit-Community.
I would like to grab this chance to tell you all a little bit more about myself.

First of all I need to apologize for any mistake in terms of grammar, diction, punctuation or what so ever. The easy reason for these mistakes: I come from a place on earth where English is by far not as popular as it should be – because I am from Germany.

And this might be a second point I should mention beforehand: I love to express myself with sarcasm and irony – so: deal with it. ;)

The easy way to start is probably by telling you how I got into Steemit and the whole “blockchain-thing”. I am working for a European Reinsurer in Western Germany and I am charged with all topics regarding new technical developments. The blockchain technology is pretty much hyped as “the next big thing” for the financial industry, so I started to dig a bit deeper into this topic.
This was not as easy as many of you might think. I have not even a little IT background and my knowledge on programming and so on is very limited (if there is any). So I started as pretty much everybody below the age of 50 (no harm) would start: I entered “blockchain” on google and clicked on the first Wikipedia article that came up.
30 minutes later I was more confused than enlightened, so I asked a few of my colleagues if they knew anything about it. The common sense was: “I have no clue, but if you know more, let me know.” A couple of weeks later I participated in a (sort of) training event on blockchain by a German online magazine on insurance topics. The speakers were awesome and I initially started to understand the functionality and the opportunities of blockchain – please note that I wrote “started to understand”.

Currently I am reading the book “Die Blockchain-Bibel” (English translation: “the blockchain bible” :P) by some German techies and here I got my first information on Steemit. As all of the speaker at the training event were telling their audience that the most important thing about blockchain (or new technical innovation in any way) would be to try it out and to participate in it, so I thought that Steemit is the easiest way to do so, as a private person.

And here I am… young, dynamic, clueless but very curious about anything that is going to happen.

Maybe at the end of this little story some facts about myself:
I am 29 years old, engaged (wedding in May 2017) and besides that a pretty average German guy: I love soccer / football, love beer and good food, love to enjoy some good music (basically Rock / Punk / Hardrock, but in the end it doesn’t even matter ;) ) and enjoying my life.

I also don’t know what to write next, but maybe some of you would like to get some insights on anything regarding my personal or business life? So don’t hesitate to ask in the comments.

Until then: take care and keep cool!
